Advice needed: I have a date tonight, but I also have a cold! - 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss Community

Okay, so I've had a cold for the past few days and i sound horrible. There's no disguising I'm sick. BUT I have a date tonight with this guy who doesn't speak any English (I'm in Spain) and I don't really know how to say it without sounding like I'm blowing him off. He also hasn't gotten on-line so I can't talk to him there and I can't understand him on the phone (this language barrier sucks sometimes!) so i'd have to text him. So, my question: do I text him and tell him that i have a cold and if he wants to reschedule, I'd understand OR do i just go on the date?

also, the cold has been really bad and i haven't been able to go to the gym since friday and i feel huge.

I would let him know you're sick...if possible..and ask to reschedule. I'd ask about next week so he knows you're not trying to get out of it and really want to go. I don't think he would think you are blowing him off if you want to make another date. You would probably do more harm than good if you go out sick. I know I have done that before and ended up sicker, though it didn't seem possible, than I already was. Anyway, let us know what you decide and how the date, whenever it is, goes. Good luck

you can't go if you're that sick... you gotta talk to him! text if you have to but ask him to get online or something later so you two can talk.

haha okay so i was going to text him but he texted me first and was like so i'll pick you up at 7:30 okay? and before i knew it, i had texted okay sooo i didn't tell him. but it was fine. I wasn't sure if i really liked him or not, but we went out to get a coffee...but we ended up staying out until like 11 so it went better than planned! then at the end of the date, i told him only a hug because i'm sick and didn't want to get him sick, but he claimed he never gets sick and still kissed me. So now i'm worried that he's going to get sick too! and i keep thinking i'm going to feel better soon but i keep getting worse!! and we have a real date on saturday

i think i'm going to go to the gym tomorrow and just take it easy but i'm sick, on my period, and haven't worked out in a week so i feel absolutely disgusting! thanks for the advice though!!

madridguiri- that's too funny! I'm in Alicante
