Default Feeling Guilty...but know I shouldn't

I've been doing really well lately with working out and eating well. I've been OP and haven't given into any temptations--not even when I go out to eat with friends, the bf, family.... But I fear that it may be getting a little out of hand...

I've been going to the gym every day for at least an hour and a half at a time. And I go pretty much every day. But every day that I "take a day off" from the gym, I feel overwhelmingly guilty like I'm being lazy and I feel so blah. But I heard that taking a day or 2 off during the week lets your muscles mend. And on those days I don't eat bad at all...in fact, I usually end up eating even better.

So I guess the point of this post is that is it normal to feel bothered and guilty when you take a day off from the gym? I feel like, antsy and guilty if I take a day off here and there! Is it good to go 7 days a week? I know my body deserves the occasional rest though! Ughhhh

I think it's totally normal to feel that way.. I feel that way some days too. But you're right that you need some days off, especially if you are doing weight lifting, because your muscles need time to repair themselves and that's how you get stronger.

I know what you mean. I had surgery on my mouth and i have taken about a week and a half away from the gym because i just feel like crap. My doctor tells me to try and hit the gym 5 days a week, it is good to take atleast one day off during the week, so dont feel guilty!

I felt the same way too when I first starting working out. I went to the gym every day and worked out for and hour and a half each time. and when I couldn't go I would get SO mad at everything.

You just have to know that your body needs to rest or you'll be spending more time at home from being too sore to work out.

I used to get really mad if something came up and I couldn't go..still do sometimes. Just look at that day off as a vacation..for example you work hard all year long and deserve a vacation...so if you work hard all week you deserve that one day. Hope this works!

i think 7 days a week is fine as long as you arent feeling any pain or soreness, if you're working out hard enough to feel sore then it might be a good idea to take a day or two off a week to let yourself recover. Thats my general rule anyway ^_^''
