Default My trip to the doctor..

So turns out I do have Poly cystic ovarian syndrome. My doctor was very nice about telling me im fat lol. She told me she wants me to loose 10 lbs within the next 3 months and really keep track of my calories.. Im on meds now to regulate my periods i guess and she said that it SHOULD help me lose weight too as long as I watch what i eat.. And on top of that she wants me to go to the gym 5 nights a week for an hour at a time.. lol Should be fun.. Wish me luck!

I feel you're pain I have PCOS as well. It's not as horrible as it's hyped up to be but sometimes it makes losing weight really difficult. I wish you luck. Hope it all works out well With that amount of exercise you'll definitely see results!

not sure if you found it already, but we have a special pcos group in dieting with obstacles.
what kind of medication did your doc put you on? starting on metformin in october totally screwed up my digestive system, but it also made it possible for me to lose weight. so i guess it's a tradeoff...

I just got diagnosed with PCOS too. And I am on metformin as well. Its crazy how many of us are dealing with the same things. My Dr didn't put me on the pill cause DH and I are trying to have kids, and well that would just mess things up.

I hate met. Made me so sick. the only reason I lost weight on it is because I couldn't eat! I was on it for about 6 months and my symptoms didn't go away. I'm going to ask about met XR which is released into your system slowly so the side effects are supposed to be easier.
I wanted to go on the pill as well but the doc explained that if you're on the pill when you're over weight you're more at risk for blood clots and like you guys said a stroke.

What did your doc put you on other then met?
