I try not to get bummed on that day. I don't hate the day but I dont like it when people constantly asking me questions. What are your plans tonight? Are married? Do you have a boyfriend?

i hate v-day never had a bf or a date that day. whos with me on having and anti healthy vday party lol

My mom is a florist and i end up being her slave for the week of Valentines AKA **** WEEK! lol. I have spent most of my week cutting and de-thorning roses, and today i spent all day dipping strawberries! (Hey and i only ate 2 haha) I am just ready for it to be over!!!!!! Its wayyyyy too commercialized now days.

I feel like my hub is very romantic, but Val Day is just a big corporate retail scheme, IMO.....I hate those ads where the girls are looking at the teddy bear going OOOOH EEEEK I JUST WANNA KISS IT! Excuse me??? Do they want guys to think that's what grown up women do if they get a freaking TEDDY BEAR? What nonsense, are these guys dating 6 y/o's? It's all a little precious for me.

I hate Valentine's day myself.. I have been in a relationship for 9 years and we don't do anything. I don't want my bf to feel obligated to buy me a present I can easily buy myself, nor do I want him to be obligated to show he loves me with some cr@ppy roses. No offense. I don't like roses, I don't like chocolate, and I'm nearly 30, I don't need to hug a teddy bear to get to sleep anymore. Plus, I want him to save all his money so he can spend it all on my birthday ;) lol, now THATS a "holiday" I like to indulge! In my defense, isn't it a holiday if you get the day off with pay? hehe... yes, thats my justification!

I dread VDay too! I never had anyone on VDay and when I was in high school vday was like popularity contest day. Girls would show off teddies, flowers and cards and guess who never had anything to show? And even though I love romance itself, on the week of VDay I want to start stabbing the plastic hearts and the teddies.

I've always been against the corporate holiday. Stemming back from the aforementioned popularity contest of high school where all the other girls were getting valentin-o-grams and other pink fluffy oddities. *gag*

BUT.... i have to admit that although I still don't buy into the gimmicky things, my fiance and I acknowledge it as a day where it's just us -- corninesss and all. but alas, TOM has a way of showing up just in time so it's likely to be a rather PG night.

Otherwise, I'm right there with you girls! And if it wasn't for the man, I would definately be all in for a Celebrating Singles Night! :D (it sounds like fun actually!)

Hate it too. Trying to not think about it. DH moved out last Monday...tomorrow is V day and next Friday is our annivesary. Poo on Feb all together!

You girls are all so awesome lol, i thought I was the only one who despised this day! Its always makes me feel horribly lonely, it makes it worse that all my friends are 'attached' and have plans with their boyfriends..I say this year im hitting the gym, all day lol.

I do have the plan to hit the gym tomorrow morning for as long as possible until I have plans with a gal pal for afternoon lunch and drinks... :)

I used to HATE V-day as well, until my wonderful bf stepped into my life.
But my gym is having a Anti-Valentines day spin class and is it wrong I want to do that instead? lmao.

i hate it too, but i think i'm just bitter. i'd probably be singing a different tune if i had someone to spend it with. in the meantime, i have a threeway date planned with two girlfriends to go skating in prospect park and then probably hit the bars.

Neither have I! THis year I am hanging out with my two single guy friends and my roommates (who are a couple)

We are going to eat chicken wings and drink an amazing amount of alcohol! Diet be damned! I need this chicken wing and drinking night! =]
