And I'm the one with silly 18" calves. I've pretty much resigned myself to never being able to wear knee high boots, because I've never found wide calf boots in an 8w, 18" that I could afford. Also, I really just want to be able to go into a store and try them on before buying. I don't want to order a $200 pair of boots, send it back, order another, send it back....

Haha i told you i had fat calves! LOL

I'm scared to even measure my calves! Lol. It'd be nice to be able to wear knee-high boots . . . maybe one day!

You girls are totally singin' my song! AND you also just made me measure my calves, lol!! Mine are 16" and aside from inheriting that genetically from my mother, I also played soccer for many years and that totally beefed up my legs!
But alas, there is hope ladies. I own lots of boots that zip over my calves and even though they have never been cake to get on, they stretch a little. TIP- they are easier to zip if you sit on the floor! LOL!!! |
Hey! there's nothing like adding another item to the "close to goal" incentives!
:D (it's for sure on my list!) ;) |

I have wide calves too! I got these great knee high boots from the website chinese laundry. They were apparently popularized by the Gossip Girl tv show. I was really worried they wouldn't fit, cause the girl on the show has skinny legs, but they do! I think they were supposed to be kind of slouchy looking, but they look pretty good tight over a pair of jeans too. http://chineselaundry.com/indShoe.as...90914960860925 They say it has a 14" circumference but the elastic on the back stretches so that helps.

My calves are 16"! My thighs are 22.25". I am leg challenged. They have definitely gotten smaller but not small. :(

My calves are 15-15.5. All I want is for them to fit into some beautiful boots. I really love the boots shown on Gossip Girl (although I don't watch that show) that you provided, aneleh!! Those are going on my list! The boots I'm holding out are these ones that Sophia Bush wore in that movie, The Hitcher: http://www.thefryecompany.com/Produc...-77300DBN.aspx
They are the tan ones!! They'd look so good with a dark denim shirt and tank top. |
Hmmm, I like the look of really long, sexy legs...but shapely is better than twig-like in my opinion. When I've done my measurements, I've never measured my calves or thighs before...until today, because I was on another thread where we were talking about thigh measurements. Is there some kind of "ideal" calf or thigh measurement in your views'? Is there an average? I know I've heard the 36/26/36 thing for bust/waist/hips...some people say 36/24/36 (Mostly men, I think!). I just haven't thought about it much before until seeing it in two different threads today.

I have 14" calves, which combined with my height and weight makes them look like tree trunks.

I wish my calves were proprotionally bigger.
