Yay! 8.4 pounds!

  • I'm so excited, I lost 8.4 pounds this week! I know it's normal to lose a lot of weight the first week, but for me that's like Biggest Loser kind of numbers. Definitely a motivational boost!

How has everyone else done the first week of the new year? I'm sure we have quite a few "re-commiters" like myself around.
  • Holy cow!!! How did you do that? What did you do this week to drop that much?

Congratulations, by the way. I'm just shocked!
  • Wow Stacy, that's awesome! Congrats on the weight loss, this is my first week as well! Keep up the awesome work.
  • Wow that is so awesome hun!!! Keep it up!
  • ok...fess it up..chickie
How did you do it? Like you...I have lost some weight and went the WHOLE darn year of 2008 and did NOT lose anything?? Although I did not gain..I maintained..I so NEED to get some body FAT off..OFF!!!

Tell me how did you did it in ONE week? We need specifics?? I am a firm believer you just never know when one change will help someone else.
  • You go girl! How'd you do it?! So does that mean it's also your first week in under 200? Yay for that too!
  • Holy smokes..how you do it girl?! Impressive!
  • sun flower: I've been under 200 before, the whole way down to 169 a year or so ago when I was training for a triathlon. I gained the whole way back to 201 in the last six months or so

everyone else: Nothing special as far as my plan goes. Just started calorie counting again and drinking more water. I think for the week I averaged around 1500 calories a day. I also walked on the treadmill 5 days, 30-60 minutes a day. Nothing huge by any means.
  • WOW! Congratulations! Thats incredible
  • Oh boy?? Guess I am eating to many calories. I am averaging between 1800-2000...and I am 259...and so STUCK! I just already feel like I am hungry when I eat..so cutting it to 1500 is going to be so hard for me.
  • OMG, wow!! Good for you! It's weird that what you did to lose that weight is what I do all the time. But I could NEVER lose anything close to that, not even in a month. I eat 1500 calories and run/walk/high incline intervals 4-5 days a week for 55 minutes. I also drink a lot of water.
  • If someone is not used to drinking lots of water, and they were eating more sodium before, they'll tend to drop a whole bunch of water weight in the beginning. It seems like sometimes starting to work out (while drinking lots of water) will get the water weight moving, too, but I'm just making that up based on past experience, I've got no scientific evidence.

It's a great sign that you've been taking good care of your body! Congrats on the loss.
  • That's awesome!
