Feeling the cold

  • does anybody else really notice the cold now they have lost weight?
i am really posting this to ask for advice, or other peoples tips, for keeping warm on those freezing days!
    so, does anybody have any?
  • OMG, sh315. Are you really at 105.6? Wasn't your goal 126? Girl, no wonder you are cold!!!!!! I guess my advice is to layer up! The more layers the warmer you will be!
  • Try to keep y our feet and hands and head warm

Ive noticed the same thing and im just sooo happy i don't have those hot flashes at night anymore.

    That's what's missing.

When you are eating less than maintenance weight, you will probably naturally be more easily chilled. I know I am, and I'm certainly not anywhere near my goal yet...but I've been freezing all through our early cold spell.

JahJah is right. Cover your head (I wear knit hats and scarves inside to keep my body heat up). Cover your hands if necessary or wrap them around a cup of hot beverage, and try to never let your feet get cold because they take the longest to warm up for me. If my feet get cold, I have to get up and do something active to get my blood circulating again. They make heated foot pillows now (that are like slippers you slip your feet into). I should probably get myself one for when I'm sitting at my desk.
  • OMG, yes! I talk about this allll the freaking time, so everyone must be so tired of listening to me complain about it, LOL, but yes! I am always freezing now! Especially since I go to school in Chicago, which is SO COLD. As far as coping with it, I wish I had more advice to give you, but so far I got nuthin'. All I can say is that SWEATERS are my greatest love at the moment! My style has always been really big on layering, but especially now that it's more practical to wear lots of layers, haha. I wear cardigan sweaters over pretty much everything now... I swear I have one in every color of the rainbow, and I'm always looking for more!
  • how tall are you?
  • Yep-- we need more external layers to keep us warm because we have fewer internal layers! And that's a problem I am willing to have!
  • I have not worn this many long sleeved, sweatshirts, jackets, scarves, and hats etc as I have this year. Losing 45lbs is apparently doing a real work on my internal insulation system.
  • I am seriously frozen to death MOST of the time lately...lol....I cannot even go to work or outside without a long sleeved shirt on, inside my new winter coat. It's like this chill gets inside me and that's it I'm bitter cold. The worst thing now is that it's so hard to drink water (I cannot stand drinking warm water) and it makes me even more colder! argh..come on summer!
  • You lose about %50 of your body heat in your head, so keep it covered!
  • Yes. Showering is sometimes miserable this time of year when I turn the water off to shampoo my hair. It's amazing how quickly the heat leaves you.

Thats good advice, I'v noticed since I've started doing this I am a lot warmer.
  • I agree with the above comment completely. Roll on the Summer - lets hope it is a scorcher this year, I so want to be in shape still to show off my achievements!

I guess the cold is something that just needs to be put up with. Just never experienced it, or remember experiencing it to this extent before!
