Angry Apple shape rant!

So.... I'm on my way out to my step Grandfather's funeral. I just put some new clothes on and I am angry... I bought these new dressy jeans last week, called "bella fit". They are designed for big girls with no hips and small thighs. Well these damn pants are STILL TOO BAGGY in the hips and thighs. I didn't realise they were this baggy when I bought them. What am I suppose to do? I CANNOT find jeans that fit me properly anymore. All my fatness is up top, from the waist up... I'm a size 20 waist, but my legs would probably fit well into a size 14. I HATE being apple shaped .... Any solutions?

Ugh! That's so irritating! I really hate it when I buy something and it turns out that it doesn't fit later. Maybe a seamstress can help you in making clothes that actually fit? Or (this isn't going to be very appealing but I'm going to suggest it anyway) clothes designed for pregnant women? I hope you find a solution!

I so get it!! That is me!! Hun, the only cure I have is to keep trying them in until you find one you like. Otherwise, i take my own clothes in... Good Luck!

Ah, I'm sorry Luvja, I can't relate to the apple shape, but let me tell you being a pear is no picnic either! We pears struggle with pants a lot, the fit in the hips, but the waist is too big or if you get the waist to fit, the rest of it is way too tight.

As a pear, I've found myself jealous of those apple girls I see at the bars. ... their jeans are so little and their thighs are so straight! I've been a pear for so long, my perfect gift would be a pair of skinny thighs!

The grass is always greener... Right?

Aw, that's frustrating! I think you must have lost weight since you bought them Pants fits are getting better and better, but they have a ways to go yet. EVERY woman deserves PERFECT jeans, IMHO

What about jeans that have a little stretch to them? Or is that dorky? I'm not exactly what you would call trendy.

Oh, I'm with you on this one luvja. I got the Bella jeans too! I have the typical apple upper body and skinny little chicken legs, so jeans - all pants, really- are baggy around my thighs and bum. I heard the Bella cut was the best for gals like us but I have to admit that, like you, I find they are still a bit baggy. Not as bad as everything else in my closet, but far from giving me the nice lines I was hoping for...

I think I'll just stop looking for the perfect pair of jeans and take the ones I have to the tailor...

Man I miss my maternity pants haha they fit me better than regular jeans! Maybe that is a solution, as crappy as it sounds, but seriously they make the dang cutest pants for preggos these days, they make them look as regular as they can. motherhood.com has some awesome options that do not look like maternity pants. i doubt you look pregnant, actually I know you don't i've seen your photos on here!!, but they would be tighter in the legs and bigger in the waist like you need. I think that's an awesome suggestion, really innovative!

PS love your profile pic luvja!!

...What's it like being apple shaped?

No, seriously, I'm in the same boat as you, only OPPOSITE on the measurements--I'm a 14 waist with 18/20 thighs. It's so ANNOYING when I know I can fit into freakin smaller jeans, but with my big thighs, I can't fit into them! So they're always baggy around the waist.

Have you tried trouser cut jeans? They sit differently and are straighter on the leg instead of looking baggy.
