What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: My mom is overweight and diabetic. She within the last month had a toe removed because of the diabetes and was in danger of losing her leg. I am more determined to lose weight now so I never have to go through anything that she has.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I need a lot of help. I have always been "the fat girl" and I am tired of it. I just really need someone to chat with that is going through similar things.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Graving foods that are bad; eating sweets, not being able to say "no" when my husband offers me something to it.
Following any specific plan: No, but I am trying to not eat bread and sweets amd junk food-thus pretty much made me gain weight.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I don't feel okay with the way I look, it does not flatter me. I look .etter smaller/

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: When I last tried 2 years ago, I did pretty well for a bit, so hope to get back into that mindset, that's what is preventing me from succeeding atm.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Reprogram myself to listen to my body and stop when i'm full...chuck the old "clean your plate and have seconds" mentality i grew up on.
Following any specific plan: Exercise every day for at least 30 mins, drink 20 oz of water every 2-3 hours, pay attention to every bite and stop when i have that satisfied feeling, eat mostly raw and lightly cooked foods.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I finally realized(thank Mitch!) that I own my self and now all I have to do is hone it.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Fountain pop & Coffee (I like a little coffee w/ my cream & sugar).
Following any specific plan: Go to the gym, dust off the workout dvds, use to program “fitday”, create a health meal plan, drink tons of water.
Flat out.. I hate water. Always have. Growing up, our tap water was horrible (and sometimes crunchy). When you filled a glass, it literally took a minute for it to become clear. I usually drank pop. Tons of pop. Recently, I tried Dasani (a coca-cola product w/ minerals) & loved it. So, tomorrow I'm picking up a case and we'll see what happens.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I have nothing else to do so I can dedicate the time and attention.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Not eating the same foods in the same quantities as my cheese and lasagna loving partner.
Following any specific plan: Not decided yet, I've tried caloriecounting before combined with Eat to Live and working out and got to my goal weight last autumn. I think I'll do the same again now, but try not to be too strict on myself so I won't regain the lost weight.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I've grown up and realised I'm only going to get depressed if I strive for absolute perfection, but when I look at photos from last year I see how good I looked when I was slim and much healthier too.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I'm so glad this forum exists, everyone seems lovely and you learn so much and I think it's fantastic for motivation.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: My boyfriend and I LOVE to eat out and have gotten into the habit of going out a couple of times a week. In the current economic situation, it's better for my waistline AND my wallet to cook at home! Also, I'm not a big fan of going to the gym so forcing myself to work out has always been a stuggle.
Following any specific plan: no... just exercise and try to eat well. I like to cook, so I'm challenging myself to come up with low-cal, healthy recipes at home.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Hmm...as of right now, nothing really. If I can stick to working out (trying an at-home plan of videos combined with walking the dog twice a day) for over 2 weeks, it will be different! That's why I'm here!

Anything else you would like to share with us: Ive found that one of the best ways to tone my entire body is pole dancing. I took a class with my girlfriends just for the **** of it, and now I go every week. It is so fun to fool around on the pole with your friends not to mention it really increases your strength and flexibility.
