anyone else going to sabotage themselves on thanksgiving? not that i'm planning on it, but i'm being realistic. i can't say no to thanksgiving food...i just can't.
You don't have to say no. Just say "not TOO much." Drink a ton of water before the meal and remember what a serving size is. Eat slowly and if 20 mins later you still want more, have a LITTLE more.
I made thanksgiving food this past weekend just so I wouldn't find myself going overboard on Thanksgiving. I think many of us end up going overboard with Thanksgiving because we don't make that stuff for ourselves during the rest of the year.
I don't think I'm going to have a problem with Thanksgiving this year, but Christmas will be another story....tooo many goodies!!!
I'm going to eat what I want, even if that's a small piece of each kind of pie, with real whipped cream . I'm not going to make myself sick. And I refuse to consider it sabotage.
Normally I don't go too overboard because A) I just can't like I used to and B) it's one day. Just one day. Sure, some people turn it into a 4 day love fest with leftovers and goodies, but if you look at it as one day with a really big meal (and for me it's light grazing on veggies and stuff and then having a big late dinner) and a few days of turkey sandwiches, well, I guess I don't think it's that bad
I'm going to enjoy myself, but I'm not going to hurt myself. Last year...oy, talk about some serious overeating. I was rolling around on the floor praying my stomach wouldn't burst open inside of me, Lol!
I always do pretty well with limiting my portions and not getting seconds EXCEPT for my moms homemade dinner rolls. Those seem to make their way on to my plate a few times. They will be my arch nemesis this year and one just triggers the need for another, I've decided to not to eat any of them. I won't miss it in the overall realm of things. Anyone else have that one thing that you just keep seconds (or thirds) of?
