Just out of curiosity what the heck were they advertising? tapeworms? That person does not look healthy...

While I agree that the proliferation of diet ads online is frustrating, I don't know if calling somebody (even if that "somebody" is probably photoshopped) "gross" and "probably not even healthy" is a good response. Some people are naturally very thin, even to the point where they struggle to gain weight. And some people suffer from eating disorders that lower their weight. While I doubt the model in question will ever see this thread, there may be some people reading this who call into one of those categories. If they don't deserve our sympathy, they at least deserve not being actively trashed.

What have we gained if we impose another "right" type of body standard to replace the one that has been pushed on us?

thats true betsysunqueen, but it is kind of gross to suggest to what is probably a vulnerable group of people that they can or should try to look as tiny as that. At least, it is imo

If this is the company I'm thinking of they are a site that advertises a "cleanse", and their weight loss ads are all ridiculous and don't make sense. One I saw said "SHE LOST 48 LBS IN 2 WEEKS!" Ummmm, really?

Another one had a before and after set, but they were switched. It said something like "LOSE WEIGHT FAST AND EASY!" and the before was much thinner than the after. If they made any sense at all I'd be upset, but they're so ridiculous that I laugh. I think they do it just to get people's attention or for the shock factor.

Someone must be buying and using the product, though, and that part does make me sad.
