Thanks for the ideas and the link Heidi! I'm always looking for something new- we do use tofu a bit but I'm no pro at it. I'm still new to the tofu-ways. I use it in deserts a lot, but cooking with it is hard still haha :)
No worries, Carey! We missed you! |
Hey ladies, wellllllll...I have never used tofu in a recipe but I am fond of healthy cooking recipes. I actually love recipes in general, and the food network. And Cat, I'm sorry to hear about the boy but it sounds like you're feeling better about it now.. Also, I love the banner for yellow. Super cute!
If you ladies would also like to direct yourselves to the first post you'll see what I did so that it's pretty easy to keep track of numbers and percentages and stuff...so yeah, there it is. Let's get movin'! :) |
Looks good, Carey! My starting weight is 172.6 and my goal weight is 135

ok, so i had a really rough morning. i know. and i've been having a rough feeling last few days. thursday and friday i was sick and didn't exercise, and sat and sun i was at my bf's and didn't exercise. and mon i was so lazy and tired, i didn't exercise. and finally today it all came to a head and i binged this morning on all those comforting carbs.
but... this afternoon, i got dressed, it's really cold here, and i ran. and it was hard. i think b/c my body was so used to not exercising and it was so full of heavy foods. but i did it. i ran 5k. and the last minute or two, i ran extra hard. and honestly i feel better. like i'm back in my game. i've realized that i'm definitely one of those ppl that *needs* to exercise. not just for physical fitness, but mental as well. have a great night, ladies!! one day at a time.... |
sweet_talker Awesome! Have you just started, or have you been doing it for awhile?
stellart Some people definitely need to exercise. I have depression issues if I don't exercise and keep eating crappily! It's a big motivator to just keep moving. I did level 2 day 2 of 30DS today despite my horrible menstrual cramps. Ate pretty well today- I made flat bread pizzas for dinner. I found 100 calorie flat bread at the store today, so I took one and spread a little tomato sauce on top, put sliced mushrooms and green bell peppers, and some onion - salt & pepper, baked for 8-10 minutes in a 350 oven. YUMMY! |
Carey - that's an awesome chart you have going there.
I'm having a super bad day. I'm a total grouch and I've gotten nothing but crappy crap to deal with all morning. It's not even 10am and I'm praying for 5! Someone please put me out of my misery.... |
Hey guys, sorry i havent posted much, im going through a bit of a rough time right now :(
Im sooo hungover today, resisting the hangover munchies though. i need to get out this horrible drinking habbit, its really not cool. Sorry for the rubbish post, just feeling really depressed today. Hope you are all good :) cat x |
Oh dear...It seems as though a lot of us are having some problems right now :grouphug:
stellart - Wow, it must have felt great to finish that 5k!! I am definitely someone who needs exercise too, without it I feel...bland? I don't know if that makes any sense but that's how I feel haha. Good for you! Carly - I'm on level 1 day 7 today (did the first 5 days in a row, then ended up taking 3 days off, not really intentionally it just happened...) so yesterday was day 6. I'm impressed that you did it with cramps. Bleh! Nice work. That pizza sounds good too! heidelene - thanks :D I don't know what sort of crap you are dealing with, but I hope it all works out. Maybe a quick walk would clear your head. When I'm having days like that I find going for a bikeride, not fast or anything, just a sort of cruise to feel the breeze helps a ton!! Cat - I'm sorry you're going through a rough time. I've gone through periods of drinking a lot too, and you just don't feel as good, hey? Maybe you could write down all the reasons you don't need to drink (frequently) or all the things you feel better for when you drink less to put things in perspective. I hope you feel better. I have a ton of school to tackle today and did not fare well with doing it yesterday, **** I barely made it to school.......Oops. I'm doing pretty well otherwise though. It looks bloody cold outside though, and I need to leave the comforts of my house soon, so wish me luck ;) |
Also, I think it would be sort of silly for us all to do the same exercises like an exercise challenge because everyone works differently but do you think we should have some sort of exercise goal for the group? Like something attainable just to make sure we're all doing at least a little bit everyday.
I was thinking maybe we could have 30 minutes of exercise or something, anything you want as long as you do it. Especially since a few of us are not having the best weeks, exercise will probably help even if we feel completely demotivated...Lemme know what you think. We gotta make each other accountable though, and push each other, because this is not easy. |
I think we should have a weekly exercise goal for everyone...like everyone should excercise x # of hours per week. There are some days, like today, when I know I just have too much going on to fit in a workout, but I worked out yesterday for almost 1.5 hrs as I knew I would have trouble fitting in stuff for the remainder of the week. It's also difficult to do a daily workout with traveling for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday....

i think the exercise challenge sounds fun. it'll definitely motivate me when i'm feeling a bit on the lazy side. in fact, today, i bought a new track jacket and pants. and i only let myself get them if i promised to use them.
my old workout pants are too big now, that they are falling off my butt while i run. i guess this is a good thing. see i really dont want to use the cold weather as an excuse to stop running. not yet. it hasn't even snowed yet. i wanna wait til i really can not go outside anymore to start exercising inside again. p.s. i hate winter. |
OKAY LADIES... there is no excuse for this behavior.
Life is short, let's live it the best way we can- in good shape, healthy and strong... Let's pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and get to work! We can do this, we are strong and we have the will power to get through anything. If we let these little challenges get us down we will never progress, we'll never reach our goals. And failure is not an option, so we have to JUST DO IT. On crap days, we need to remember what's at stake- our health, the lifestyle we are working toward. We're a team now and we can do this together... Let's be the awesome women we want to be, it's all a matter of choice. Let's take it one day at a time, one choice at a time. Today I am choosing to be optimistic, I'm choosing to eat right and to exercise so I can reach my goals. What are you going to do? PS: I think an exercise goal would be awesome!! Like 1 hour a day? 45 minutes a day? Something realistic, you know? PPS: Good advice Carey. Sometimes I wish I had Jillian here to kick my butt- guess we gotta kick one anothers butts! :) Let's do this! |
Sigh. This is such a great place...It's so motivating. How about we have a exercise goal/challenge of 5 hours per week? That's pretty attainable I would say. I think we should should also challenge ourselves to be accountable for our actions and be conscious of our food choices. I know that this challenge is definitely making me think twice before doing something I shouldn't (i.e. munchin' on chocolate, a major weakness of mine..)
carly - great post, made me smile. We gotta do this! Being healthy is definitely a lifestyle choice, and I think we should all be really proud of deciding that this is the choice we're going to make. Also, there's a really good quote in someone on here's signature, I don't remember who but it says something like: Eating right is hard. Exercise is hard. Being fat is hard. Pick your hard. I liked it....It's kind of a good thing to remember. |
carcar, your exactly right! and that's what i try to do. take it one day at a time. if i try and look at it as a whole, i get way too overwhelmed.
