Biggest Loser: Black Team Thread
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1.../blackteam.jpg
Hey Black Team! So here's the deal... every Monday morning weigh yourself, and post your weight here (I've changed it to every Monday instead of every Sunday, it makes more sense, but it MUST be posted by Monday at noon to stay in the game). Also post your final goal weight, and do the quick math to figure out how many pounds you are from that weight (Current weight [minus] goal weight). Your team will have to elect a captain (soon!), and that person will add up the numbers: 1. Add together your team's total weight. 2. Add together the total number of pounds that need to be lost to get to everyone's goals. 3. Make a Black Team's total weight, and number of pounds to be lost this week... then next week, add in the total number of pounds lost that week. Use this thread to get to know your teammates. Get everyone to dish about their eating habits, their workout routines, strengths, weaknesses, what you can bring to the table, and what you need help with. Give each other suggestions, encouragement, new ideas and strategize. Let's see it ladies. Which team can be the Biggest Loser? Important Note: When you're checking the thread in the future, be sure to check this first post before anything else. It's where updates will be posted about the game! |
So... I was thinking we needed a banner for our signatures.
What do you all think? :D http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...eambannerj.jpg |
Where on earth is my black team at!?
|
IM here!! black team rulez!! lol
I think you should be the captain! im nominating you :D |
These banners are awesome! I love it! Also, because I love Jillian so much, I'm excited to be on the black team even though the colors don't really correspond to the real show. Anyhoo, I'm here Jelbb and I'm ready and rearing to go!
I'll help keep track of numbers if help is needed, but I do better as a follower than a leader unless absolutely pushed to do it. I'm more of a support character than a hero! Or if forced to be the hero, I much prefer being the anti-hero who does things in a weird, backward way. heh Anyhoo, to get us started, here's some information about me and what I'm doing right now. My final goal weight for the purposes of this challenge is 125 lbs. I think in the long run it might be lower than that since I'm so short, but 125 is the goal I've pointed myself at until I'm closer to it to see how my body feels about losing more weight. That puts me at 69.1 lbs from my goal weight. Lbs from goal weight: 69.1 lbs I set a goal for myself to lose between 1.5 and 2 lbs per week. So far it's been pretty consistent. I've been following a sort of intuitive eating plan and a very loose calorie counting plan as far as food goes. I eat when I'm hungry and I make a note of the calories per servings in things so I don't eat more calories than I mean to. I don't have the patience to keep track of calories on a website or in a journal. Every time I tried to do that in the past just frustrated me and made me ignore the calories in things rather than keep track of them. Also, I've stopped drinking soda and I only drink juice very rarely. I do sometimes drink alcohol, but it's not more than a couple of times per month. When I'm on vacation I do drink ales. I do drink a lot of tea though. My normal workout routine consists of doing yoga every morning for 40 minutes, walking home from work which is about 20 minutes, doing yoga in the evening for 10-15 minutes. Sometimes I do try to walk during my lunch break at work. I've also just taken to walking whenever I can and taking the long route places if I have time and am in no hurry. For this month, I've been doing the 30 day shred pretty much every day. I'm not sure if I'll continue it once I hit December right away or if I'll take a break. I don't really know what my strengths are at this point. I do know a few weaknesses. One thing I'm really afraid of is getting impatient and feeling like I'll never make it and giving up like I have in the past. I haven't hit a craving or an urge to eat more than I should that I haven't been able to resist. They've only happened rarely too, but they do happen. I also tend to overeat when going out with this one friend, but I don't see her every week, so it should be fine. Basically, my strategy so far has been to not obsess over my final goal. I've noticed that's been a problem for me in the past. Being so obsessed about where I'm going, I've been unable to take pleasure from where I am now and how I'm working toward that goal. All I see is that I'm not there yet and I get frustrated, despondent, and stop working toward it. To combat this, I've broken down my goal into 5 mini goals that I only focus on instead of looking at the big picture. It's 5 because I'm losing 10% of my BW for each goal until I'm at my final goal. Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning more about the rest of the black team. This is really a great idea and I'm looking forward to the Black team's inevitable victory! |
YAY! Black team mommas!
I love Jillian too, even if she is a little bit scary, hehe. :D Everyone pumped and ready to weigh in tomorrow a.m.? |
Yeah! I usually weigh myself in Saturday morning, but switching to Monday won't be a hardship. Hopefully I'll have fluctuated down in two days time so I won't feel sad. hehe
|
wrd, that was a great post! I'm so glad you wound up on my team!!!
Okay, so my name's Jess (if you care to call me by my first name). I've had super struggle issues with my weight for yeeaaars. When I was 137 lbs, I thought I was fat. When I was 145 lbs, I thought I was REALLY fat. And then when I got to 176, I felt morbidly obese. Well, I haven't been any of those things technically speaking, but I haven't been particularly healthy, and it's time to change that! Last time I was on 3FC, I went from 176 to about 156 lbs... left 3FC, and bounced back up to 160-165. Lost again to a steady 160... then my boyfriend came to visit (long-distance relationship :(), and I worked to get down to 158... by the time he left this summer, 5 weeks later, I was at 164-165 again. :( So, I got determined. Part of my motivation is that I'm spending Christmas in Ireland with his family and friends, and while I think my personality is pretty decent, I'm friendly, and I get along with people... I'd still prefer for his friends to be thinking, "Damn, she's hot," and not, "Huh, he could do better." The rest, and more powerful part of my motivation is simply self-loathing. I didn't like how I looked and felt at 176, or at 160-165. My clothes don't fit right, and my mind is constantly rolling over the idea that everyone glancing at me is thinking, "Ew." Time to change. My mother cut wheat out of her diet a few years ago, and dropped 60 lbs like magic. Wheat doesn't sit well with her digestive system or her metabolism. Don't get me wrong, she ate well, watched her fat and sugar intake, and substituted in rice pasta and rye breads, but.. alakazam. 195 to 135 in about 6-8 months. So, at thanksgiving this year (Canadian thanksgiving is in October), feeling particularly bloated and a bit depressed, my mother suggested that I try it. Just try it for a week or two, try cutting out wheat. Okay. Two weeks later, I went from hovering between 159 and 162 to being at 157. Then 156. Down and down, next thing I knew it'd been more than a month since I'd had a cookie, donut, bagel, roll, and I didn't even miss them! Not having wheat meant that I didn't really crave wheat all that much anymore. And there were so many substitutes, and I didn't have to feel guilty eating rice, and potatoes and rice pasta... no problem at all! While I cut out wheat, I also keep loose tabs on my calories. When I went from 176 to 160ish, I kept OBSESSIVE tabs on my calories, and got really good at estimating about how many calories are in the things that I eat. I avoid sugary things (thankfully for me, a lot of sugary fattening things have wheat in them), and keep fried junk down to a minimum. On an average day, I tend to eat: Breakfast: Organic oatmeal with organic honey to sweeten it. (Estimated 250-300 calories) Lunch: Chili from Tim Hortons (Canadian chain.) (300 calories, according to their website) Dinner: Heaping bowl of steamed veggies, good pile of rice pasta, and organic tomato sauce. (Estimated 500-600 calories) Snack: Obscene amounts of rice crackers. (200-300 calories) My exercise routine isn't AMAZING, because I'm so... so not a morning person... but I get to the gym about three times a week (that's my goal at least, and lately I've been pulling it off!). I hit the elliptical, and picture Jillian screaming at me, while I push myself like mad for a half hour, and every few trips, I do an intense weight circuit that leaves my muscles shaking like Jell-O! :D I've been sitting at about 153.0 for almost a week now, and this is a plateau for me. The same number? For a WEEK? I can't imagine women who sit at the same number for 6 weeks or more, and keep moving. I'd go mental. So, I figure, my body is getting WAY to accustomed to what I've been eating, so I kicked up the calories a little this weekend in the hopes of reminding it that I've been eating damn well, and it should drop some frigging weight! So, I indulged in some salty fast food fries and a diet coke (no burgers, wheat in the bun! :D), and kept the rest of my eating about normalish. While home for the weekend for my mother's birthday, she woke me up at some unholy hour like 8 am with a giant glass mug full of pink fruit shake, which tasted like it had organic almond butter, strawberries, some kind of flax flakes of some kind, and I'm willing to bet some soy milk, and protein powder... either way, it was fantastic, and I kinda wish I wasn't too lazy to do that for myself! After chowing down on lunch and a big-*** diet coke, I weighed myself, feeling bloated and icky and weighed in at 153.2... which shocked me just a little until I glanced at my fingers and remembered that for some weird reason, my fingers have been pruny all day, without having (Sorry!) showered, or gotten them wet at all. I think I might be dehydrated... So, if I pound back a ton of water tonight, get myself hydrated again... I dunno, it's anyone's guess what the scale's gonna read tomorrow. :o |
ohhhhhhhh I can't figure out how to add the banner to my signature! Someone help me! :D
I'm so excited about this challenge! I havn't weighed myself in over a month, but have been fairly consistent with exercise and eating. I go to the gym 4-5x/wk, and will do cardio 30-60 minutes. On days with short cardio I'll do some weighlifting.. mostly toning with free weights. I've had been stuck on a plateau for.... hmm... honestly.. I'll have to say almost 2 months. So now, I've determined.. it doesn't count as a plateau anymore. Time to revamp what I'm doing. I tried the 30 day shred (once) and liked it, so I'm going to buy the dvd's and that will be my workout for the challenge. I would still like to have an hour minimum tho.. the workouts are technically 20 minutes.. so I'll still go to the gym for cardio.. otherwise I'm trying to incorporate some running outside (still trying to wake early enough :D) For food, girls you'll have to help me :( No fast food for me, and no sweets in excess for me! Be proud :) For fast food I usually go to taco bell and get a fresco bowl w/ no chips. So instead in preparation for the challenge, I went grocery shopping and I'll be making my own bowls here. I'll have a layer of black beans, brown rice, grilled chicken, lettuce and tomatos with salsa! yum yum! :D I'm pretty sure it'll kick TBs butt! For the first week of the challenge I'll also be doing a detox to jumpstart my weightloss get me back into the mindset of being thoughtful of my health. I'll follow FatSmash for the detox since it incorporates a lot of powerfoods, still falls into a range of 1200-1600 calories.. so I know I'll still be energized to kick butt! I would like to get back down into the 110s. I havn't rocked a dress or a pair of shorts in forever. It would be so awesome if I could find a dress to <3 for new years, I've always had to work for new years in the past so this year I get to go out!!!! :D Ok thats the longest post ever from me :p I'm done! Heading to the store to buy my 30 day shred dvd's, some more veggies for EFS, and maybe a slow cooker or juicer. For committing myself to this challenge I'm giving myself a reward!! Jess be our captain!! k girls good luck :) I'm outta here! |
Hello everyone!! :woohoo: go black team!! Anyways I just wanted to say hello and say lets kick some butt! :p I can't wait to weigh in tomorrow... but do I need some where to put a start weight or will tomorrow be my start weight? I'm blonde so some things come slower to me hehe
|
Haha, no worries!
Tomorrow morning will be your start weight, and your goal of 125 will be used for our calculations. Remember to post your weight tomorrow a.m.! :D |
So are we doing the hourly exercise count thingy! (descriptive ain't I?) Because if we are I could definately help out the team there... For being the weight I am... I am also very exercise orinted :p (It's the eating for 4 people that has gotten me in trouble :D) I work out usally 6 or 7 days a week for about an hour and a half :p I actually enjoy it.. once I get to the gym.. It's getting out of bed I have a problem with :p
|
oh yay! I figured it out! Got my black team signature now :D
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr's! Let the games begin! |
I just got done with week 2 of the C25K challenge i also am doing the 30 day shred and some other cardio on the side / cycling/elliptical .. i try to do 2 separate exercises a day so its usually 60 minutes total :)

Layla316:
We're not going to do it large-scale this week, but we are next week. I can decide the amount of weight loss the winning teams should get off of their total losses depending upon the numbers that come back from this week. (Aka., if all 9 teams each only lose a combined total of 3 lbsish, then giving them a whole lb off of their losses for making a fitness target might be a bit over the top. :p) THAT BEING SAID... As Captain of the Black Team (is that what we decided??) I elect that we try collectively to complete at least 30 hours of exercise this week as a warm-up! We haven't heard from AS22... so, assuming there's only 5 of us working on this, that means... 6 hours each between now and next Monday, which works out to less than an hour a day! Doable? If AS22 shows up, we'll be sitting even more pretty in that goal. ;) ALSO, I elect we all become avid water drinkers. Water flushes out your system, gets rid of excess sodium, and helps to make sure you don't retain water in your body, which will help weigh-in wise! I bought a big 1.5 Liter bottle of water, downed it, and have just been refilling it a few times a day with tap water. What sayeth you, Black Team? :D Fill out this chart for tomorrow a.m. after you weigh-in! MONDAY NOVEMBER 17th Starting Weight: Final Goal Weight: Number of pounds to lose: Weight Lost To Date (in this challenge): Exercise Plans This Week: Check in as often as you can throughout the week. Let everyone know about things you're struggling with, and issues you're having so we can all be encouraging and helpful! Talk to each other about cravings for junk, about not feeling like going to the gym, about daily stuff that might affect your (and our!) efforts. Ladies, we can do this, I know we can! Let's shake our booties! :D |
Yahoo! Hehe I'm excited to get started! I definately need to pump up the water drinking because I am for sure lacking in that area :p Lets get it movin! Well I am leavin for the night :D I am getting up at 5:30am to go to the gym :woohoo:

Oh my god... I total f*cked up.... (excuse my french, but I am so peeved at myself) I ate a whole package of crackers earlier... I was doing so well I had worked out and I have already drank 2 liters of water... this sucks.. How could I do this?? :( I feel like crap...
|
Hey! It's okay, Layla316. It happens to everyone at one point or another. The important thing is to keep on with your day as if you never went off track. No reason to beat yourself up about it.
Do you know what prompted you to eat the whole package? Was it just the munchies, or were you craving something else and you were trying to avoid eating that? Or was it a matter of not noticing how many you were eating? Talk to us, we're here for you! But don't berate yourself for too long. It's progress, not perfection we're trying to achieve! |
Layla:
Ohhhh, don't worry. It's only the first day. The absolute worst thing you can do when you make a mistake is spend a ton of time beating yourself up over it. It makes you feel down-trodden, like you can't do this... which isn't true. I KNOW you can do it, because you're a strong chica, who's gonna kick some *** this week with all of our help! And when I eat crackers, I often do the same with rice ones at least. I eat the entire box. It's the salt on them, salt makes you crave more and continue eating, it's why people eat entire bags of chips. Yummy. Sometimes it's best to make sure that you pour stuff like that into a bowl and put away the box instead of eating out of it.. that way you have to CONSCIOUSLY decide to go and get more, instead of just mindlessly eating out of the box and suddenly realizing you've eaten the whole thing, lol. Or, if you know it's something that you have a hard time stopping once you start, it's sometimes better just to say no to it, and find something lower calorie that you can munch on. :) What kind of plan are you on? Calorie counting? If so, can you make up for it by making a few lower-calorie choices tomorrow? Don't stress too much. Eating those crackers did not destroy your day eating-wise. If you still stay healthy and on track OTHER than a little over-indulging, you.. and we.. will be fine. ;) Me Today I had.. a piece of rye bread with low-calorie butter for breakfast (150 cals) and then went to the gym and worked my little butt off on the elliptical for 30 minutes. I got my heartrate REALLY going, and burned about 350 calories... Went to campus... for lunch I had some chili and rice (500-600 cals). I'm all munchie-feeling right now, but I think I might just eat an early dinner instead of snacking. If I wanna snack later, I'll get a tea before my night class and rustle up some rice crackers... |
I had some special K for breakfast with fat free milk around 200 calories
2 bottle of water so far for lunch i had 2 wheat tortillas with hummus .. about 400 calories and one slice of an orange and some tea :-D Did my first 30 DS for the day :) |
Layla sometimes eating a bit more can boost your weight loss! you never know so don't beat yourself up it will only cause you to get Even more hungry! haha Ive tried it.
And remember in the end we are all winners!!! |
Oh Thank you guys! I brushed it off and went and grabbed another bottle of water :p I will probably be floating by the time this day is over...lol... I am going to just eat a light dinner tonight and maybe go for a walk.. It is a lil nippy though :D Now where did I put those darn mittens... Well I am off to pick up the bedroom and hopefully find the floor... I may have to dig a little but I know it down there somewhere :p

Hello Black team! I am your new member! So I thought I'd tell you a bit about myself, I've been on and off 3fc's many many many times. I haven't really lost much weight, but I need to. My finace is here to support me, he needs to lose quite a bit of weight as well. My actual goal is to be the weight I was when I graduated college which was 170 that means I have about 45 pound to lose. I can do this, I just have to put my mind to it.
I am a teacher and have fallen into the trap of eating fast food for dinner because its quick and easy and I'm exhausted. Also I haven't been exercising, because honestly, when do I have time when I have to plan lessons and grade papers, etc. Now you know where I'm coming from. I'm going to try my hardest to get down to business and lose this weight. Now I don't have only me counting on me, but I have my team as well! GO BLACK! Just a random comment, we shouldn't do this JUSt during The Biggest Loser Season, we should have this contest running all of the time! Whoo hoo... I'll even volunteer to organize it next time! ( I think taking on that responsibiltiy will help me even more to stay on track!) |
Im Hereeeeeeeeeeeee!
..MONDAY NOVEMBER 17th
Starting Weight:183.2 Final Goal Weight:145 Number of pounds to lose:38.2 Weight Lost To Date (in this challenge): Exercise Plans This Week: I plan to go the gym 5 days a week this week, alternating pilates classes, step calsses, joggin running and some core work. Hi All, SO SORRY it took me so long. I am very excited about 3FC biggest loser but i have had a problem with subscribing to the wrong thread so i was not getting any of the info... Go Black team! i am very excited and motivated This will be short since I am at work, i work nights as a labor and delivery nurse...i will add more and post more about me later when i get a chance! THANKS FOR THE HELP!!! |
Hey KCWMU, welcome!!!! :D
By ALL means, you take the reigns next time!!! I'm ending it there because I'm going to Ireland for three weeks, and I leave on the 12th... I don't know how insanely over the top I'm going to be able to be when this ends, since I'll be distracted by being with my boyfriend and his family. Speaking of which, in two more pounds, I will have lost FOURTEEN POUNDS since I last saw my boyfriend, which in Ireland is "1 stone." :D He has no idea I've lost any weight. Any time he asks nonchalantly over MSN or Skype, "Been spending much time at the gym?" I brush it off quickly like, "Ehh, occasionally. I've been really busy." He doesn't know I've lost a single pound. ...ten bucks says he doesn't notice, and then I throttle him. :lol Anyhow, WELCOME again! I know it's really really hard to get the exercise in, but I highly suggest you find a time that works for you. It's no fun going to the gym, but I KNOW you can find a half-hour period to rock out the elliptical at the gym once a day! (Or 3-4 times a week as is more realistic for a lot of people.) Maybe make a manageable goal for just this week. Something like... 3 times this week, you are going to find time to get in half an hour of cardio. Treadmill, elliptical, going for a jog, whatever it is... keep your heartrate up for half an hour... and TWICE this week, you are going to do some strength/toning stuff of your choice. (Pushups, situps, crunches, leg-lifts, squats, etc) What'd'you think? I'm not a morning person, so I hate getting up and going to the gym pre-classes, but I know that in the long run... I'll be spending half my life asleep in my cozy bed, I have no excuses to stay in it that extra half hour and let my body be lazy. As a result, I DRAG myself out of bed a few times a week first thing in the am, and get my butt to the gym. For you is pre-class, or right after school a possibility once or twice a week? Then once on the weekend again, and you've done three times that week! You'll be shocked at the results that really working yourself just a few times a week can provide, darlin. :) I BELIEVE IN YOU! Also, a lot of the girls here SWEAR by Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred. Maybe not a bad idea to try it? As for your eating habits... that's something you and your fiance will probably have to work together on. What've you been eating most days? I found this website, it's kinda cute... quick and easy meals. LET'S GO BLACK TEAM!!! :D |

All About me
I am new to 3FC...I am trying something new to try to motivate myself and to keep myself on the weight loss track...I just had my second child in July and when I weighed myself 1 1/2 weeks after having him i was 207 pounds..2 I am now very excited to weigh in at 183.2..a wonderful 20 plus pounds off... my birthday was at the end of october and i got a little off track and had gianed a few pounds back but since joining 3fc i am getting back on track.... on my birthday we had a nice dinner and a cake from my husband ...i gained 4 punds as a result and I was very mad at myself but at times i feel like i dont care...
Now I am trying to get back into the swing of things.. i have been counting calories and trying to stick to 1500cals...I am a mother of 2 as i said, to a 3 year old and a 4 month old... i am faithful to going to the gym and bringing my kids to the daycare there, i work full time as a nurse and have been with my husband for 9 years now. When i met him I was about 145-150lbs and now 183. I dont know how i got to letting myself go but i really am not happy with how i look. As we all do...we want instant results and i know that is not possible... I am interested to see the support i can gain from this site and I really hope i can get to the weight i have been saying i want to be for so many many years, this biggest loser challenge i think will really help...we are doing a biggest loser at work but there are people on my team gaining weight and purposefully not giving much effort and therefore gaining and bringing my weightloss and the whole team down...i am hoping to have much more support here...i wont let you guys down... Exercise is usually not a problem for me, i usually really try to exercise 5 days a week, i can jog about 1.5 miles in 15 mins...hoping to make it up to 2 miles this week, i love the eliptical and doing the treadmill while increasing the incline 1 pt every minute, what a workout! I guess i would say my weakness is strength training, i dont like to do it! But what i do love is doing classes at the gym and i just tried jillian's 30d shred...LOVE IT and boy did i feel it for days...only done it once but i certainly think that i will incorporate it!...Any suggestions? Monday i went to the gym and did a 60min step and sculpt class (cardio and strength training) and then a 30min Core ball class... Today i most likely will not exercise since i will sleep most of the day and go back to work tonight...The plan is for Pilates on Weds and maybe the 30 day shred... Not sure how to do the signature and also i have not gained rights to a ticker yet...cant wait though... i am very new to 3FC and can use all the help i can get..as you guys can tell i was a lil late logging in to the black teams forum because i was watching the wrong thread! Any help with the signature? I drink lots of water and will do my exercise this week, hope to continue to pull good numbers for The black team..I love Jillian too! my mini-mini goal is to be 179 by 11/30...my daughters 3rd birthday |
Hey honey, welcome to you too! Congrats on your 20 pounds down, that's such a fantastic number! I know it's rough when you see that number creeping back up, it makes you feel just a little bit hopeless sometimes, eh? But you're doing great, and you'll find nothing but support here! :D
I can't believe that about your Biggest Loser at work. Why would people join it if they don't care, and aren't interested in losing the weight?? The thing about this one, is none of us would be here unless we were serious about dropping some pounds, so you can be sure that we're all gonna work our little buns off to see the number on the scale drop! :) That's fantastic that you're so motivated to exercise. I,personally, could do with a large burly man dragging me by the ankles to the gym on a daily basis. I was going to go today, until I realised I have a quiz today for my first class, and don't have time to study AND go to the gym.. and I have an essay due tomorrow morning. So I wasn't going to go to the gym Wednesday morning, but I'm switcheroo-ing. Not going today in favour of reading and studying.. going tomorrow. You'll be able to make a signature when you can make a ticker. I know, what a pain, eh? :( But hang around, you'll have one in no time!! |
Welcome to the Black Team KCWMU and AS22!

Where's my black team at!? The other team keeps pushing us to the second page!!
Checking in... I had (burnt) oatmeal for breakfast because I wasn't paying attention (200 cals) and two rice cakes (80 cals) and a Vitao Fiji Apple drink, which I'm in LOVE with, but is probably 150 cals on it own... *looks it up*. Huh, about that, if not a little more. Boourns, more than 24 grams of sugar. I'm gonna stop drinking those, I think. I'm gonna try to rustle up something for lunch in the very near future here. I feel very guilty for not going to the gym today, but I keep reminding myself that I'm going tomorrow. (FOR SURE.) I was really lame last night. I don't have any weights, but I have a big 1.5 L bottle of water, and last night while watching an episode of The Biggest Loser, I was like.. lifting it up and out with one arm.. then above my head... then steadily moving it back in front of me... slow, controlled. Real weight or not, my arm was aching in no time. How's everyone else doing today, ladies? ALSO. I'm totally punking this from some other threads, but it's super cute, so: 1. What motivates you to lose weight? 2. What is your reward for getting to your goal weight? 3. What advice do you have for others who are trying to lose? 4. What is your weakness? 5. What made you decide to start losing weight? My answers: 1. What motivates you to lose weight? Looking healthier, feeling better, and feeling good enough for my super cute boyfriend. 2. What is your reward for getting to your goal weight? Ahh... seeing the look on his face when he sees me damn near 20 lbs lighter than the last time I saw him, since I haven't told him I'm losing weight, and I'm down THIRTEEN POUNDS. :) Not to mention, fitting into clothes that I haven't been able to squeeeze my big butt into in YEARS. 3. What advice do you have for others who are trying to lose? You have to want it. It won't do you good at all if you're still on the fence, trying to decide whether you can do this or not. You have to KNOW that you're going to get to your goal weight, not simply WISH and HOPE that you could be there. ;) 4. What is your weakness? Apathy. Losing faith in myself, and giving up before the game is over. Deciding when I hit my mini-goals that this is "good enough" because I feel a bit better, instead of pushing myself to feel fantastic... and then falling into my old habits. 5. What made you decide to start losing weight? Disgust. Absolute disgust in myself. Feeling like I was noticeably and undeniably, grossly overweight, and finding that larges and extra larges in normal stores were becoming my only options... and knowing that sometimes even those didn't fit well. Not to mention that I don't feel attractive, and as much as my boyfriend tells me that I'm being silly, and that I look "just fine" (nice wording!), I don't want that. I want to look amazing, I want his friends to think, "How the **** did he get her?" not "Why the **** is he settling for her?" when I meet them in Ireland next month. :( |
Heya Jelbb! I'm around. I just don't post a lot most of the time. I like the little questionnaire though, so here are my answers.
1. What motivates you to lose weight? I want to be healthier in general, take my yoga practice farther, train to return to practicing jujitsu, and avoid hereditary health issues. I also want to be more outgoing and I know it's closely tied my weight for me. 2. What is your reward for getting to your goal weight? I don't know. I think reaching the goal itself is a pretty great reward. Actually, I've always wanted to go to a massage parlor, but I've always been too self conscious, so maybe that. 3. What advice do you have for others who are trying to lose? Don't become obsessed with the final goal. Actually, try to forget there's a goal at all. Make changes to your lifestyle and your diet, and the weight will come off by itself. (This doesn't work for everyone, but it works very well for me.) 4. What is your weakness? Losing motivation and feeling like I'm not making any progress has caused me to quit twice before when I was so close to reaching my goal. I'm unable to see changes in myself and even though I know that logically now, I'm still prone to fall into that trap. 5. What made you decide to start losing weight? I've been significantly overweight since elementary school. I want to feel what it's like to be at a normal weight. I want to feel comfortable in my own body and not feel self conscious. My check-in for today. I did yoga this morning and have already met my water goal. I feel a lil bit of an at the top of my right thigh, but I think it should be fine after stretching tonight. It must be something loosening up to give me more flexibility! ^_~ Feeling all around good. |
Hi girls :/ I had a really really bad monday and am trying to just get thru the day.
I woke up at 4:00am for work yesterday, logged in and submitted my weight for the challenge.. come to find out it didn't post. grrrrrrrr's I drove in to work at 5:00am, got in at 6:00....... and everyone was acting really really REALLY strange. No one would talk to me, the put me in a separate area to sit.. so I just did my work.. around 2:30-ish my boss asked to see me before I leave. I'm scheduled to leave at 3:00 but he wanted to see me around 4 or so... I've had problems there working 12 or more hours straight with no time for breaks.. so I told him I couldn't do 4:00. So he takes me into his office at 3:00... They let me go. So now its almost Thanksgiving and almost Christmas and I have no job. What am I going to do? :( I came home last night and moped, didn't log in here like I usually do... and then passed out and didn't want to get up.. I'm working to kick my butt to at least not be so bummed that I dont look for some work for now to get me thru the holidays. I can't believe they let me go... anyways.. I wanted to at least repost so you all knew that I'm still very much in this challenge. I'm so upset that I can't be part of it this week since my stats didn't get posted, but I'm still excited about what we'll all accomplish in these 4 weeks. Monday November 17th starting weight: 136 final goal weight: 117 number of pounds to lose: 19 weight lost to date: 0 exercise plans this week: gym 5x I'm going to follow the EFS diet, phase I for this week. I'll calorie cycle between 1200-1600. Today I dont feel like I have an appetite. Just sad I guess. |
Oh honey, I'm SO sorry! I'm so so so sorry, that's one of the worst feelings. I got "laid off" from a job before because my sales weren't as good as everyone else's. I just felt awful.
But you know what... It's nearly Christmas. People are hiring like mad for seasonal positions! I say in a couple of days... boogie out and start handing out the resumes like crazy, even if they're ****ty retail jobs you're not really interested in. If I were you, I'd say, "**** them." As much as in the moment it HURTS like ****... you have to know that in a few months... it'll hurt less. In a few more after that? It won't really hurt at all. And a year later? You'll wonder why the **** you gave two ****s in the first place. Don't let this allow you to fall off the wagon. You're far too strong, and fantastic to let a minor setback like this ruin your efforts, honey. You're gonna look GREAT in 4 weeks, and nothing can stand in your way! I have to recalculate our numbers anyhow, so I'll get yours in there. Don't worry about it not posting. :) |
Grr I was up 4 pounds this morning. I'm completely blaming water weight. I don't think I'm going to weigh in again until Monday comes around, so that way I don't get discouraged.
1. What motivates you to lose weight? Seeing old pictures of myself. Looking at my wardrobe and realzing that I can't fit into over 3/4 of what I own. 2. What is your reward for getting to your goal weight? Honestly, just being happy with my weight and being able to wear all of my clothes again. 3. What advice do you have for others who are trying to lose? It's not going to happen over night. 4. What is your weakness? Quick fixes.... aka... snacks, fast food, etc. 5. What made you decide to start losing weight? I think number one kind of sums it up. Not to mention my knees and my ankles hurt after long days at work, and i know its from having so much weight on them all day |
