Default I shouldn't have gotten on the scale...

I know, I know, I know that daily fluctuations happen. But it's still so disappointing to find a .2 gain instead of any loss after I've been so good Wednesday, Thursday, and so far today.

Yes, it's TOM. Yes, I've been working out for a week, so it could be muscle gain. Yes, it could be water because I've been really good about drinking AT LEAST 50 oz. of water a day.

But it still sucks.

Two questions for you ladies:

1. This is the first "natural" aka without the Pill period I've had in 13 years; at what point in your cycle, or how soon after the first day or last day of your period do you find that the water weight comes off?

2. Is there a delay between a binge (ahem, Election Night) and the weight gain from it? Or does your body immediately convert the food to fat as it digests it?

For me a binge takes about 3 days to register on the scales. And .2 is absolutely nothing, dont worry about it

1. I tend to lose the TOM weight at the end or just after it ends. But really, the pattern just isn't that consistent for me.

2. A lot of women here have found that the weight shows up several days to a week later. Your body has to find a new balance.

I gain 2-3 pounds about two days before my TOM. It comes off about 5 days after the start of TOM.

I have heard that binging takes 2 or 3 days to show up. That sucks!

.2 on TOM?? That's nothing! Dont worry. I've heard of some women gaining 5-7 at their TOM. So, dont fret.

I remain the same weight while on my TOM, then lose between 2-4 lbs anywhere from the day after to 4 days after it's is over. But everyone is different.

I agree, it takes a couple days for food to be turned into fat.

I second what rebecca is saying... .2 isn't something to worry about at all. you could go to the bathroom and be down .2. Personally, I gain about 5 pounds at my TOM.

I had my first TOM after going off the pill about a week ago, and MAN. For about two weeks before, I was more bloated than I have EVER been, before or during BC. It was ridiculous. I seriously thought something was wrong with me at first! It took about three days after TOM to go away, and I feel fabulous now. But I think the lack of hormones really changes you once your body gets used to it! Don't worry

I should clarify -- I gained 5 lbs. for TOM (it started on Monday, I went from 126-131), but the new .2 is just in the past few days after the binge on Election Day, after which I have been doing everything right. From the sounds of it, the .2 was from the binge -- it's been 3 days. And hopefully at least some of the 5 will go away when TOM ends. I hope.

my scales were a pain in the butt this morning....
first reading 119.5....
second reading 118.6....
third reading 118.3....
so i have taken the 119.5 reading!....

I hate my scale! I have irregular periods and I have had mine now over a week. My scale is higher than usual and I am hoping and praying it is due to my TOM. Usually I gain about 3-5 lbs right before my period and it doesnt go away till the very end.
I am a dentist and was a pre-med major, etc and took a ton of science classes. Once your body digests the food (takes several hours), and your basic energy requirements are met, the extra food is stored as fat pretty much right away. I really doubt it takes 2-3 days. My binge usually registers on the scale the next day (probably a lot attributed to water weight gain).

Are you weighing yourself at the same time every time? Something my WiiFit asks me to do...

Also... .2? Are you kidding? That's hardly measurable... Don't worry about it...

The problem was not the .2, but that it was going up AT ALL, even though I had been good about working out every day and eating right. In my (probably crazy) mind, it should at least be .2 the other direction, ya know what I mean?!

And I generally weigh myself in the morning after the 1st pee, because any other point in the day I have who-knows-what in my stomach (a liter of water, a big pile of veggies, hopefully not junk food, lol).

Thanks for all the feedback guys -- I am going to try to relegate my scale-checking to Wednesdays, and hopefully TOM will be over by then.

Yea, not only that... your weight sometimes changes 2 pounds every day... so one day you'll be 130, the next 132 and then back to 130 or even less...
