I usually work out before I eat, as it upsets my stomach to eat something beforehand.
|
I workout exclusively in the am. I never eat before an am workout. I've read in several places that working out as soon as you wakeup without eating will help you burn more fat. I believe it, it really works for me.

I believe it's something like, your body has burned all the carbs during the night while you were sleeping, so when you work out on an empty stomach your body has to burn the fat, that's all that's left....

I also eat before and after. My trainer advises to at least eat a little carb snack to get you through the workout. Which makes sense. If trying to think of food as fuel, and if you haven't eaten since the night before, you probably need a quick burst before you go burning! :woops: :lifter: :exercise:
I like a quick half apple or other fruit, or an oat bar on my way over, then I ENJOY the rest of my breakfast when I can sit and eat it. Best of luck! Whatever works for you is the right way to do it. But if you ever feel dizzy or really sluggish during a workout, you might just need a little carb snack beforehand! ;) |
I tend to start feeling nauseated if I don't kick-start my morning with something small at least. Usually a granola bar, or an apple, then I have BREAKFAST breakfast when I come home from working out. :)
