Eating half and throwing the rest away?

  • I do it. Not just with pasteries with other food too. I came to a realization awhile ago that I have a problem with food and with controlling food. When I really want something if I don't eat a taste of it I will start trying to fill myself up on other food and just eat a bunch of crap. So if I want a pasterie or an appatizer with my meal, or an ice cream cone or whatever I'll eat a few bits, offer it to whoever is with me, if they decline throw it away.

    My brother said something to me when we were out to eat the other day asked why I order so much food and only ate a 1/3 of everything, and I explained this too him and he just looked a little confused but said ok. Its my way of being at peace with food. Nothing is off limits just in portion.
  • I did it yesterday. I took the kids to an amusement park and we ordered funnel cakes. The boys took off with theirs and I was sharing with 2 little ones. The little ones changed their minds and didn't want funnel cake after all. Argh! I had 2 bites and dumped it in the trash. Better in the trash than on my a-- (ahem, it kinda rhymes with trash)
  • I share with DH. Those fresh cream eclairs are sinful! But only 1/2 not so bad and they are fun to share with your SO nudge ;-)
  • I like the motto: I'll either waste it in my body or I'll waste it in the trash- but either way it will be wasted. Better in the trash than on my ***!!!
  • I will eat half and save the rest for another day!!!
  • If throwing it out feels like waste, consider eating it "just because" to be wasting your previous hard work.
