I'm having mine this week and for the first time ever I haven't gained weight... I'm on what will likely be the last day and am just now starting to feel a little bloated, but this morning I weighed 1.3 pounds less than last Friday.

I really don't know why this time has been so mild - usually I'm bloated, irritable, craving every chocolate item I can get my hands on... I did up my protein pretty drastically about three weeks ago, so I'm wondering if that has helped any... I do take Seasonale, so I only have a period every 12 weeks, not every month, but I've been on it for two years now and every other one has been my bloaty, gainy, cravey, icky.

I'll have to see what happens next time I guess...

I foudn that eating more protein has made a difference for me in the general "blah" feeling around the time of my period. I also think that just plain losing weight has helped! :)

recently (2 months), i didn't gain any weight during my TOM. but, definitely can't see a loss =.='

Findmyself 08-28-2008 02:11 PM

I usually gain about 2 lbs on the day my TOM starts, however, if I stick to the diet, I usually lose around 4 lbs by the end of the week. (thus a net of 2 lbs)

I never get cravings during my TOM, but I do get mood swings, which makes me want to eat - but if I just stick it out, I always lose weight.

I don't even like to get near a scale during TOM. Not only are my hormones out of whack, but seeing what it does to my numbers makes me even worse off, even though I know what it's from, I still have a hard time believing it.... it's the worst!

I've only had my TOM once since starting my plan, and I vowed not to weight myself at all for that week because I had heard so much about the crazy fluctuations. However, I kept up with my plan and everything for that week (exercising was the hardest part!!) and when I finally stepped on the scale when it was all over, I actually had lost 3 lbs. I might just have been lucky, but it just goes to show that anything's possible, I guess! :p

i dunt find it makes me eat more....

i have no idea why....

It is very hard for me to lose before TOM - The day I started TOM this time I weighed and had lost 3 lbs (in 4 days). 3 days later(last night) I weighed again and have lost another 3 lbs. I know that prior to TOM I retain a lot of water and I haven't changed my eating habits this week but I was ravenous last week. I do South Beach so I just made sure that what I ate was on plan.

I usually gain up to 5 pounds before, and then lose it all during. Actually, this last month, I lost an extra pound during. :)

I usually gain right when my period starts and I usually lose right after it's over.

Munchy 09-10-2008 06:43 AM

I usually lose a lot less the week before, then lose a standard amount that week.
