Question rewarding yourself ?

i was off-track from about May until just last week. luckily the weight gain was minimal (in the 5-7 lb. range, depending on the scale/time of day). i have been back on-plan for over a week, and i feel great! i'm stuck in a place that i always get stuck at - the 200s and 210s (i've seen 198 once in my adult life, when i dieted the first time around in 2005.)

anyways, i've decided since i'm back on track i could use some extra motivation. i plan to buy myself a new Vera Bradley bag once i hit my next 10% (no, i'm not a sorority girl or a grandma, i just like VB. hehe). since that's not a $60 bucks i can justify on its own, this way it'll be a reward. i'm not setting any specific timeframe for this goal, so hopefully this will provide a little extra incentive.

i'm sure there are others that have used this method. have you been successful?

i love giving myself rewards! Its been pretty successful for me. I try to related them to exercise, so i get gym shoes etc, but when i lose 10kg i'm going to get myself a nice summer dress or outfit since it should be about november by then i think rewards are a really good motivator

I like doing pretty dresses... once I reach goal I'm going to get a tattoo that I've always wanted.

I like to use CD's or small items of jewelry... When I lost five pounds I went and got some gold studs (I have 9 holes in my ears)...

I also plan to get a tattoo when i hit goal weight...(which i hope is by the end of june). i have wanted this tattoo since before i turned 18, and when i finally turned 18 i went to the place where my brother got his 10 tattoos..but the guy was very rude to me. i figure now when i get this tattoo it will be a celebration of my strength.

Nothing wrong with celebrating a job well done or accomplishment you've made. I go shopping and buy myself something I otherwise wouldn't.

I have eyeballed a Lululemon hooded sweatshirt that a friend of mine has that she loves and says is so comfortable. Their stores only run up to a size 12, so there is no way that I would fit into one now....but my reward is that I am going to buy one of those sweatshirts (they're actually way too expensive for my liking for a sweatshirt) as my reward when I can finally fit into one! I'm actually excited about it..haha.
