Hey everyone! i just joined the website.. still trying to figure it out but I would like to join you guys for a full week on the plan. I'm starting a little late but I did great yesterday and today.. so far so good. I'm eating less than 1300 calories and I plan to work out for 30 minutes a day. Good luck to everyone!! :)

Well, third day is going well for me! Started it off with a good breakfast and I have chicken defrosting in the fridge for dinner!

I will get some personal replies in tonight when I get home from school! Everyone seems to be doing so well, though!!!!

UrsusMaritimus 08-13-2008 07:24 PM

Just checking in to keep myself accountable - I've been really hungry for the past couple of days (not sure why - I'm eating plenty), and I don't want to mess up:

This morning: Good workout. I ran a mile (not that far, I know, but I'm just starting to run again) and lifted weights.

Breakfast was a smoothie, lunch was a sandwich + apple.

Dinner will be mahi-mahi and a large salad. Evening snack will be a FiberOne bar (mmmm, FiberOne bar...).

That should put me right at 1500 calories. I'll be back with an update later tonight!

Hope y'all had a good day!

hello ladies! I had a good day had a 90 cal drink from starbucks and nuts for bf. then for lunch i had a cold piece of pizza (i know not the best choice but not really off plan either) then foe dinner i will have a salad chicken and some wild rice and for dessert a pear! I got in my exercise babysitting 2 8 year old boys for two hours lots of fort play and hide and seek. you all are doing so awesome way to go!!!!

Day 3 for me (Wednesday)
I followed my calorie limit (it was hard! pizza arrived at work during lunch. but I just had one piece)

...and I just got back from the gym. worked out for 30 minutes, my minimum.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scarlett: everyone else that commented is right, diet soda was a much smarter choice than regular soda. we all have little slip-ups.
Lauren: I know how weird it is to work out when others are around. Some of my workout videos I have are sooooo embarassing to use in front of others (hip hop abs anyone? I am NOT a hip hop dancer). :) Maybe your sister will want to join in though.
Kai Kai: welcome to the group!!
Jaclyn: running a mile is impressive to me. I can't run that long. great job!
sweetkam: What drink was it? I miss my coffee drinks *so* much...i have a hard time finding some that won't ruin my calorie count.
Taylor: Thank you!!! That's awesome. I didn't know about the site. :) Yay! Back to Starbucks I go!!
Taylor86 08-13-2008 10:35 PM
Three days down!!!! I have been under my calorie mark everyday (only by 50 or less) and I am feeling so great!
This thread was a wonderful idea! Everyone is doing so well!
ballerina An iced grande non-fat mik - sugar-free vanilla (or any sugar-less syrup ) will put you back only 80 calories and for a hot tall non-fat milk (sugar-less syrup) it is 90 calories. I drink hot or iced americanos which is espresso and water for only 15 calories and then add splenda. Also - the iced coffee unsweetened (any size) is only 5 calories. Starbucks also has a great website that can help you figure out the calories in any drinks with anything in it so you can find out what works for you!
(FYI - anything at starbucks ordered with non-fat milk and sugar-less syrup is called "skinny" - i.e. Hot Tall Skinny Vanilla Latte --- just to make sure you are getting the right thing. I should know, I worked there for 2 years.)
Quiet Ballerina 08-13-2008 11:22 PM
Possible problem:
This Friday, I wanted to go meet a friend, cause there's this downtown festival thing...it's "an evening of art, music, wine tasting, shopping and food."
...so how do I stay in my calorie range? I can't just drink water all day and then finally get food and wine at the festival. I'd like to enjoy myself and taste different wines and we'd probably get dinner (or sample foods as we walked...I've never been to the festival so I'm not sure of all the details.)
suggestions?
UrsusMaritimus 08-14-2008 02:39 AM
Taylor, you are doing awesome, especially considering you're coming off a vacation!
Ballerina - Huh, that's tough. I think you should just eat as you normally would during the day and try to make good choices at the festival. I don't think anyone here would fault you for treating yourself on a special occasion. It may not be strictly "on plan," but if you can enjoy yourself without going overboard, that's a victory.
Four days down, three to go... Keep up the fabulous work, ladies!
Taylor86 08-14-2008 10:30 AM
I totally agree with Ursus. Enjoy yourself without going overboard it what it is all about.
UrsusMaritimus 08-14-2008 10:04 PM
Another day down! I hiked this morning and still have a few hundred more calories to consume this evening (which I intend to do shortly). I also made healthy food choices all day. Yay!
How did everyone else do?
Two more days to make this goal! :D :D :D
sweetkam 08-14-2008 11:34 PM
Iconised Ghost 08-15-2008 07:11 PM
well its nearly the end of the week, and apart from not going to the gym as planned on monday, ive been pretty good. I started graphing my calories, and this week it has been pretty consistent around 1500, which is good. Looking at what i was doing before it was all over the place, anywhere between 845 and 1700. No wonder my body was hungry all the time, the graph looks like a freaking seismograph. I guess i will see if being more consistent pays off on weigh in day
Quiet Ballerina 08-15-2008 07:50 PM
Sorry I didn't get to check in yesterday!
Day 4 (Thursday)
Did a good job with my calories. Didn't do as great as I would have liked on the exercise...but I'm making up for it tonight.
Day 5 (Friday)
Followed my calories and about to exercise shortly (as soon as I can get a little more energy. I'm a zombie today).
I'm not going to the thing tonight after all....I worked really late last night and had to be at work really early this morning...so even with a nap I'm not up to going. :( Sucks cause it sounded like fun. Another time.
I'm going to write down some of those coffee ideas! Thanks so much Taylor and sweetkam! I might go get one tomorrow. :)
Have we lost some people along the way? :(
UrsusMaritimus 08-16-2008 01:47 AM
Hi ladies!
So I went over my calorie limit today - about 100 calories. I was genuinely hungry though - I've been feeling hungry for the past few days - so I think my body needed it. I ate healthy foods and worked out (weight training) this evening.
Congratulations to everyone who's managed to stay completely on plan! And great job to the rest of us as well - we haven't binged, and our "slip ups" have been minor. I think we're all making fabulous progress! Sounds like most of us are still hanging in there - Taylor, Ballerina, Sweetkam, Annita, Ghost. Way to go, ladies!
One more day... :) :) :)
