I've always wanted a digital scale that measures in tenths of pounds, my last one just measured halves. But I'm sort of a numbers geek.
My cheapo $15 digital scale was very durable and accurate, so I don't think you need to spend much money on a scale. I'm sure almost all of them are basically the same. (If your 5-year-old nephew floods the bathroom, just for example

a $50 scale will probably die just as fast as my $15 one did.)
From what I've read about the body fat scales, none of them are really very accurate. Some are more
consistent than others, meaning that at least you can see a downward or (God forbid!) upward trend, even if it's always consistently off by 5% or something. I've heard mostly good things about the consistency of the Tanita scales.
