bentley -- welcome!! I'm really not a breakfast eater, either. I never have been and probably, honestly, never will be in the sense that it will never feel "natural" for me to get up and eat right away. BUT -- I do work very long waitressing shifts (Frequently 12+ hours) so I need to be fueling ALL the time. I've found that I really respond well to eating Luna bars (or something else like that) in the morning. It's enough to keep me going until my next break but not so much that I feel like I've just eaten a "meal". If I know I have a particularly active day ahead of me I will also down a Fiber One yogurt for some extra. I have found, though, that I definitely lose more weight when I start eat breakfast. What they say about it starting up your metabolism for the day is definitely true!

ill def add in some yougurt to the routine! its just weird for me to eat when i get up like you were saying...

I pair a fruit or yogurt with a grain. Oatmeal with raisins is fantastic. Or i'll do a light english muffin with a piece of cheese. My favorite breakfast though is oatmeal because it keeps me full for a while!

Remember, please share the recipe for the banana-nut muffin! I got some banana sitting at home that I gotta use!! :D
Bently, one of my fav breakfast: frozen strawberries+uncooked old fashioned oatmeal+skim milk+banana...throw them altogether into a blender. YUMMY smoothie...it's sooo good and filling too. For oatmeal and milk...milk is double of oatmeal. For example, if you put 1/4 cup of oatmeal, then half cup of milk. That's just enough for one serving for me. One BIG serving, too. :D |
I've hitten a jag with breakfast, too. So I bought some of these whole grain, low fat frozen waffles. lol. Sounds awful, I know but they're only 140 for 2 and with a little fruit its DELISH.
I'm all about tricking myself into thinking I'm super spoiled with what I eat. |
I'm not really a breakfast person either. I think I stopped eating that meal in the 6th grade...about the time I started waking myself up and catching the bus to school. I'm just now, as in the last year started eating breakfast again. And it can only be cereal because I don't have the umph to get up and cook anything. I used to cut up fresh fruit, but again, at 5am in the morning, I don't really have the hand/eye coordination I need to handle a knife.
Anyway, I'm feeling good about my week...though finals are next week, I don't really have any homework, so I've been working out AND eating dinner. Though I do wonder when is it too late to eat dinner. I'm noticing that I don't eat until like 8 or 9 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. And even later than that on the weekend. I know I'm not supposed to eat after 7, but I don't know why. And since I'm hitting up a late movie on Friday night and an even later dinner (around 2am) is that too late to eat, or just an early breakfast? |
What is the oatmeal of choice? I'm kinda bored with Fiber One and Special K myself... Oatmeal is super easy to carry to work too.

I'm about to head to the gym....I'm FINALLY getting there. It's so weird, I go through cycles where I can't get enough of working out, and then I start binging and never want to work out again.
I'm in the binging cycle right now. Bf is gone and I NEVER binge when he's here, and he's gone for 2 weeks, so it's been really tough already and he's only been gone for 2 days.... :( I guess I have to see the damage that's been done so far in order to fully understand how bad it is when I binge, right? Ugh.....I could really use some support ladies... |
Sometimes for lunch I will take an English Muffin, scramble some egg whites and then stick a piece of low fat American cheese on top. Wrap it up and bring it to work, and then heat it in the microwave right before I eat it. Very yummy and low in calories.

Iconised -- I just threw all of the binge food out. I've gained and that's definitely a motivator for me to not binge. My guess is that it's a really temporary gain, probably a lot of water in there, and I'm also expecting TOM soon. I actually thought it would be here by now, but whatever. I'm not pregnant, I know that!! hahaha. Anyway...I feel like I've given myself a clean slate (well, I had a little bingey thing this morning before I wrote that last post, so tomorrow will be the first all-day clean day..), and I'm starting out now with an egg-white/high-fiber english muffin sandwich for dinner.
Going to the gym was rough, but I think it got me back on track since I saw how much I've gained. Even if it's mostly water or will come off soon, I don't care...it's a gain. It's hard cooking for one when I'm used to cooking for two. It would be so much easier just to say "Ah I'll just order in blah blah blah" but I'm not going to do that. I'm also a little short on cash, now, soooo that'll help me to be eating better! |
