Default Oh Jeeze

I have this insane craving for chinese. But I will not give in. It's kind making me grumpy, too. I am gonna walk to the gas station and get a diet coke instead.

I just wanted to send a thread out there to tell you guys I am not gonna do it because sharing my craving with you always makes me feel better and my calories lower!!!

Lemon chicken will not take me where I want to go. It will be a momentary satisfaction that will only make me feel icky and disappointment in myself and I am not willing to make myself feel that way.

I am not gonna do it!!!

Great attitude!!! I know how it is! What I do in the event of a major craving is I get a low cal substitute (unless I can get myself to forget about it). If you really want Chinese food, why not buy a chinese frozen dinner at the supermarket? I like Lean Cuisine and can't get enough of their panninis, by the way. Yeah, I know it's not that healthy and it's high in sodium, but it makes me feel satisfied and not as deprived. The portions aren't huge, but after I'm done eating, within 10 minutes, I feel full. Keep going though! You are doing great!

Yes, I agree. I've found a world of success with healthier (not necessarily wonderful) alternatives. One of my big ones used to be chips and salsa. Now I get Trader Joe's Multi Grain Tortilla Chips with their fresh Salsa (just chopped tomatoes, cilantro, onion, jalapeno and garlic). The chips have a good amount of fiber and are more substantial than regular tortilla chips, so they take longer to eat. The salsa is just plain yummy and gives me some veggies instead of a bunch of preservatives.

My other big one is vitabrownies when I need something chocolatey. Again, a fair amount of fiber, some protein, lots of vitamins, no preservatives and only 100 calories.

Don't know why I felt the need to share all of that!

I got my diet coke and feel a lot better. But you know those cravings where you are like "Where are the car keys and get the small children outta the road! Here I come to eat all the chinese food ever made!" - Yah, it was one of those.

So far so good though. I think I am gonna be ok

Hold on there! Think of all the added sugars and fat take-aways add in their Chinese food. Don't let a lemon chicken control your life.
