I am just popping on at my Dads house because I wanted to share something great!
tonight my dad had a bbq with myself and my boy to plan our camping trip. While the boys ate 2 lovely lamb chops each to themselves and potatoes with lots of butter I stuck to my chicken breast, rice and spinach. I didn't even have one...single...beer. I did, however, take a tiny bite of lamb only to my suprise say, "Wow, that's really greasy!" The meal was over in 20 minutes and I had won a small victory. We were also planning our meals for the camping trip and while they were thinking about steak, pork chops (which I will eat) potato chips, beer, chocolate...I was planning on buying extra laughing cow, my 10 minute boil brown rice and low - sodium deli meat. I am going to bring some bacardi rum to have a few drinks with them but alas my beloved guiness has to stick with the boys. Do any of you camp? What do you bring that is reasonably fun? Turkey brats maybe? Remember I now hate making "lunch plans" with people. I try and make coffee plans for after lunch so I can avoid menus. I also hate not having control of meals and not knowing the calories or what they use to cook in. It makes everything a guessing game to me and I feel so out of control. I am going to buy a scale a target tomorrow, like you suggested so I can take out most of the guessing game at home out. tara Today when I worked out I saw a muscle too! I was like, "woah! Where did that come from??" Good job on becoming more defined! That must feel so good! Way to go! ortho Again, free lobster. I am still jealous. silver WOOT for 146! Water or not it still must feel awesome! You go girl! |
Taylor, I don't think that's just a small victory. That's HUGE victory! YAY! :cheer2: Also, congrats on seeing muscle. It's a great feeling, isn't it? :D
|
I was a little grumpy while eating my chicken breast and watching them down two yummy lamb chops...but it was over in 20 minutes and I had come thru it.
As for my muscle...it was really cool! I was like.."What is that line? It's bumpy.." HAHAHA |
I found muscle on my legs while driving. It was cold when I got off work..so I put one of my hand under my leg and I was like "What is this?! it's hard!" lol

Hey Taylor,
Way to go! That's a huge success. It's funny you bring up eating out. I'm a little phobic of it these days, myself, not knowing exactly what the nutritional info of what's going into my mouth. Especially when I'm updating FitDay later and I have no idea how accurate it is for the day. I'm trying to get past it though, I don't want to be one of those people who goes from eating too much to being scared of food. |
Hey just wanted to pop on this morning because I stepped on the scale and guess what? I’m back down to 169 after ballooning up to like 172/173 in Philly and then up to 175 when I went to Sagniaw on Monday. I thought there was no way that I gained 6 pounds in like 9 days even drinking a lot. So I’m guessing most of it was water weight. I’ve been trying very had to drink at least 2 or 3 liters of water a day. So now hopefully I can start losing some actual weight.
I haven’t found out what is on the menu tonight (partly because I don’t think it is created). My roommate was going to call her Mom and see if she would make lamb gyros (I know ground lamb terrible for you). Now I love lamb but it’s going to be so high in calories. I’m hoping her Mom will decline because the meat needs to be baked for like an hour, its hot and I don’t know if the have central air. Plus if her sister is going to be there then she can’t eat it. Either way I think my plan is going to be get a salad at lunch, well probable end up at the deli next door so I’ll either get the Michigan Salad and push the blue cheese aside or the greek and push the feta aside. If she wants somewhere else I’m going to look for a broth base soup and salad. Cookie – When I was posting yesterday I realized I was being whiny and that you had it a lot worse then I did. I’m going to try. Taylor – Huge Victory. I love lamb and that would be hard but good job sticking to your healthy option. As for camping, I don’t camp. But if I had to suggest food I would say chicken sausage is amazing and comes in a variety of flavors, I had roasted garlic yesterday in pasta! yum! Also if you want something like hotdogs I’ve heard good things about ballpark 99% fat free (I can’t eat them they have turkey) and I enjoy Hebrew National 98% fat free (they are actually the best hot dogs I’ve ever had). Good suggestion on the coffee plans but we are both working today so no go on that. |
RememberHowToSmile - I know you said "I have it worse" but at the same time I mean this is the love of my life's birthday and we have such great family and friends that want to celebrate with us. This should be a happy time, but selfish me is only thinking about my diet. I wish I didn't always do that...

the ballpark turkey franks are amazing. I don't eat them often b/c they are loaded with sodium but i LOVE them!! And they're like 35 cal each! I remember i used to eat them with Laughing cow and pickles...how was i not retaining water like crazy?!!

Today marks 7 days without cheating!!
I have discovered, that at least for now, cheat days/meals are not in my plan. The minute that fork goes to my mouth I loose all control and it takes days to get it back. I say to myself, "Well, I screwed up that day...maybe I will just picked it up after the weekend....or next week." I did make improvements a few weeks ago by not ruining whole days/weeks because of a mistake but I find it easier not to even tempt myself with those thoughts right now and just keep on the safe side of the road. (But thank GOD for the occassional skinny cow!) Here is to 7 more days! remember Congrats on getting that weight off! I know I need to drink more water! Looks like you have some good choices there with the salads...but I would have a wicked time saying no to lamb gyros! I hope she doesn't end up making them! |
Taylor, congrats on Day 7! That's awesome! I will have to try skinny cow because it's been awhile since I've had ice cream and frozen custard sounds so good today...(there's really really good and famous frozen custard place near here and man, that sounds pretty good. I think I'm going to go to grocery store instead and get some skinny cow :D)
Remember, I love gyros no matter what kind meat. Hope everything goes well for you. :D |
tara I just bought some mocha latte fudge bars by weight watchers which are only 90 calories!!! Can't wait to try them!
|
Taylor,
Congrats on a full seven days! I haven't earned a dancing carrot, but you sure have! :carrot: Go Taylor! Go Taylor! |
Awww thanks. The support I get from this group of wonderful people is just so heart warming.
You all deserve a dancing carrot :carrot: and a GIANT  Even though this has been only my first 7 days of doing really well since I joined here in April I have made so many positive changes in my life because of you all! I can't thank you enough. (Side note) Has anyone heard from Faerie lately? Or have I just missed her posts.... |
Quote:
I was just wondering the other day where Faerie went. She usually posts a lot around here. Vacation maybe? |
Faerie is in India. =) Not sure why she's there but I saw somewhere on TBL Blue chat that she's in India and that her connection is not so good. :)
So I got a great NSV today...which was awesome since I've been little bit depressed today about my weight. While getting ready to go to my friend's house party, I decided to try on this one pair of skinny jeans I got last year. I fit well last year, then this year..before I started this weight loss journey, it wouldn't even button up. When I lost some, I tried them on again and it did button up but HUGE HUGE muffin roll... and I told myself that I wasn't going to try these on till I lose at least 20 lbs. I wasn't even thinking about that but just wanted to try them on today. I did and it actually fits well. I can move around in them, even put my hand in my waistband without sucking stomach in that much. :carrot: :cb: :broc: It just made me feel so much better today. :D (I'm kinda nervous bc my friends haven't seen me since April and I've lost about 17 lbs since then...) |
