Starting Again...

  • Hey guys...I was here awhile back and then just let the diet thing go...but now I'm back for good dang it!! Been having trouble getting my head in the game up to this point but I think I'm ready to get going...just wanted to say hi to everyone, I'll see you around the board!
  • Welcome! I have been a chronic starter-over, but this time, I MEAN it. I let myself go and now it's time to make a change for good. I wish you the best of luck!

  • Hey! I just started back after an extended absence too!

I recently went to the mall (they have a DMV station there) and they also have an Aunt Annie's pretzel shop. I was going to go get one (I'd had a bad weekend where I cheated on my diet alot and thought what the heck? Can't get much worse right? Might as well enjoy it and start fresh tomorrow). And then I went to Macy's. And I saw all the cute clothes that I can't wear...bc I hate the way I look in it. And suddenly, that pretzel just didn't look tempting anymore.

So just trying to say, even when you're in a rut or going down, you can find inspiration when you least expect it. I recently (yesterday!) stepped on the scale and saw that I'd reached the 20 lb weight loss.

So welcome back and best of luck! I know you can do it!
  • i'm a chronic starter too! we should start a club...but we actually stay consistent!!
  • BACK

I was a starter-over until I joined here in April. I have my bad days - sometimes several in a row --- but I don't call that starting over because that makes me feel defeated. I just get right back on the horse and CONTINUE my journey, not start over. I look forward to reading your posts and getting to know you!!

rachie I have done the same thing! I have actually had an ice cream cone in my hand and thrown it away because I remember that that momentary satisfaction won't get me where I wanna be. Not to say that I am perfect because the momentary satisfaction of wine and cheese gets me!! But good for you for saying no to that pretzel cause they taste soooo goood!
  • Welcome! I'm currently getting back on track as well. There is no better place than here to find support for that (and practically anything else).
  • I agree Jessica! I come here for everything, just a wonderful place to be and talk about whatever is on your mind!
  • hello TheNewChristy. I think you should say continue your journey =^^= Everyone gets a moment of feeling like to quit and just want to do what we normally do, but the courage that got you here to decide to continue the journey is amazing and you'll reach your goal sooner or later. Good luck and have fun. Make sure to have fun and u'll never stay out of track again =^^=
  • I'm guilty of it too. I was doing great until mid May when my laptop wireless went down, kinda got depressed after that and gave up. It's been 4 months and I've only officially lost about 5lb, unfortunately. I lose weight VERY slowly (1lb a month lately).

    Good-luck!
  • the saying moment on the lips....
    lifetime on the hips....
    rings so true....
several times i pick stuff up to buy or eat n end up putting it back....
  • Welcome. We all have our not so great moments. Losing weight is a hard thing to do. You are only human and messing up some is natural. The good thing is that you are here and ready. And we will all do our best to help you with that.
  • Welcome back. Good luck this time!
  • Thanks for the warm welcome ladies, I really appreciate it!
