I can so relate to your dilema. I would look on craigs list, however, the price you mentioned seems really reasonable to me. I have been in a similar situation, or i should say i was in a similar situation. I am a stay at home mom of three, and while i have worked part time on and off for the past 10 years, i seemed to be the only one sacrificing my needs. and when the job would interfer with our lives, i was the one who had to resign my position. dont get me wrong, i love being a mom. it seems that this nation of ours doesnt value the role of a stay at home mother, i love when people ask "do you work" heck, yeah i work, i have three kids!!! soooooo, about a year ago, i decided to take $20.00 a week and put it into a seperate account just for me. and you know what, it added up. and if i wanted to buy something for myself, thats where it came from. and as for the hubby, "Is that a new shirt?", i always reply"no, it s old, i just havent fit into it in years!!!"

Wow.. I can't imagine being in a situation where I have to ask my boyfriend/husband for money. I just can't, because I've always had my own bank accounts and credit cards and all that. My boyfriend and I plan to get married eventually, but when talked about we'll definitely have separate accounts while we both work. I guess I kind of freak out at the thought to be in the position where I am asking anyone for handouts. I want to know I have money for myself that I made myself, you know? It's just my take on it all, I guess. These posts got me thinking on that.
I guess if the fun fund thing doesn't work you could always offer to babysit other people's kids and slowly save up money that way. It worked for me in high school! I've worked since I was 13 to make my own money, so anything before that is kind of hard to remember (thankfully) when I had to ask my parents for money. |
I wonder if he's afraid of lossing you if you lose your weight. You deserve to be healthy for yourself, your children and him. He should buy it period!
