Default 20 Somethings Daily Chat: Wednesday, Jan. 30th

Tuesday's Chat Don't forget to take the poll!!

So I'm starting this thread because the poll came out even. I'm going to change the name of yesterdays thread for the poll. We'll give it another day or two. It doesn't look even because of suitejudy's mistake. As of 7am it's daily:10 weekly:10

Wow, between this debate the the upcoming primaries, I am feeling very citizen-like!!

So, I'm checking in while munching an english muffin w pb&j, then headed off to the gym before I go to work and then class. I am pretty proud of myself for the gym effort here, I think I'm getting to that point where you NEED the exercise, and you feel it if you miss a workout. Pretty cool!!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

HappyMomma:
What were you even doing up at 7 am!?!?! I was up at 6:30 to go to the gym and it was like.. one of the most painful experiences of my life. Especially because today was really windy and snowy and COLD outside. (REALLY windy...)
Poll's at 12-10 for Weekly, but we should probably leave it up for the rest of today, and maybe tomorrow to make sure?

Sonja:
I dunno man, when I go for days and days in a row, I feel the same, like I NEED it... but then I didn't go for FOUR DAYS STRAIGHT (Eep!) and I went this morning and I'm like... Dying. Absolutely dying. I only went like.. 1.3 miles, but my heart rate was at like 168-175 the whole time, which is good and high for me. I was so tired!!
It also might have something to do with the fact that my body's not so cool with the pre-8 am workout...

Wow, everyone is getting up early and going to the gym!!!! YAY!!! That was my goal as well but then I was up until 2 last night, not really sure why. All I know is that when my alarm went off at 5:30 I was not a happy camper and went back to sleep. I am definately working from home again today!

I splurged and had Frosted Flakes for breakfast (not a little amount). HOWEVER, I gave myself a swift kick and am back on track. Whew!

How many of y'all use the Daily Plate?

So, good morning everyone! Had a good breakfast this morning and the scale has gone down another pound. I'm still up from last week though. Only by 1. I'm hoping to drop down to 175 by Sunday. We will see. DH had fever last night for no apparent reason. He's so funny when he's sick. LOL It's like he didn't know what to do with himself. He thought he was going to have to go to the hospital. LOL!! I was like...just take some motrin and go to bed. He's fine this morning but I'm letting him sleep anyway. I reeeeeeally need to get some groceries. I'm out of veggies and milk. I made bread yesterday so I'm good with that. I tell you, if there's something that smells better than fresh baked bread, I sure don't know about it!! The whole house smelled wonderful for hours!! Sigh...well, I guess I better shower and get busy for the day.

jelbb: Hey girl! I've been wondering where ya been! LOL my daughter usually wakes me up. Today she got up kinda late. 7am beats 6am anytime! She's always gotten up that early though. So I'm used to it.

lizzy: Good job working out! LMAO I sooo know what you mean about tomato paste! LOL I've never known what to do with it. I finally did what I keep seeing on Food Network. I bought a tube instead of a can. MUCH more efficient.

Although I was in severe back muscle pain and ab pain from Billy Blanks workout on Monday, I went to my church last night and did my strength training class. OUCH! Today I am sore, it's cardio only for this chick tonight! I so want to start getting up in the morning to work out! Hopefully when I start my new job on Feb. 7th I can do that. I don't have to be there until 9, which means I can get to the gym at 7, work out, go home and shower, and be at work at 9. YAY! Here's for wishful thinking! You girls are so inspiring.

What type of peanut butter do you use? I bought the Smuckers Natural, and YUCK! I can't stand having to mix that oil, no way! I need a good alternative! Help!

Good morning all!

Wow this is the first daily thread I feel like I can keep up with.

Hmm. I love morning workouts, even though other than my bootcamp I don't do anything in the morning. But seriously when i get in a workout in the morning before my day starts I feel the benefits: more energy through the entire day, I wake up more, I feel strong the entire day, I can pretty much feel my metabolism starting up.... It's so awesome. But I'm going to wait until it starts being light out at appropriate times... I can't say I enjoy a run in the dark.

sonja - good job on getting to the gym! Enjoy the workout.

Jess - Long time no see. I remember seeing you mentioned the scale had been down to 164 for a few days! I totally agree you should change your ticker. Good job on the loss! I think I'm with you, i think I like the weekly chats. It was nice trying the daily thing, but I'm a weekly kind of girl. I don't feel like I know what's going on with anyone...

slimmingdown - Hey there are worst things than frosted flakes: They're GRRRREEEAAAATTTT. Heehee, they used to be my favorite cereal. I can't actually eat sugary cereals anymore, they don't have enough energy and I'm hungry almost immeadiately, or sleeping through my first class....

happymomma - Haha, it's so funny how some people don't know how to take care of themselves isn't it? heehee. Good luck at getting that one pound to dissappear! It'll be gone soon.

sharron - What's Billy Blank workout? I've never heard of it. YAY for being sore though!!! I love that feeling, it's so rewarding. I guess I'm one of those nutters who likes pain. Probably a good idea to stick to the cardio though, stretch too though, I've been find that actually helps with pain...

So I have a pretty full day today. I'm working on summer job applications, and I'm phoning a tree planting company for an over-the-phone interview. I really want to go tree planing this summer, i hope it works out!!!! It just sounds like such an interesting job. Hard, dirty, back breaking, but fun and different.

Other than that my life is pretty much as-usual. Which is good. I have so much work to do, it's riddiculous. I'm just busy. I like being busy though, so it's all pretty good.

Okay, so a sort of random question, or rather embarrassing question, does anyone else have trouble with bowel movements when they're eating less? I find I'm not going number 2 as much. And I don't think it's my fiber intake, as that's pretty good. Should I be taking some sort of fiber supplement? How many days without bowel movement is too many? Okay. So embarrassing, but I had to ask...

Alright, off to do some work and get ready for the day.

Cat's tongue- I'm having the same problem with going to the bathroom! I am so glad you broke the ice! I've been eating PLENTY of fiber, but no luck.
The Billy Blanks' workout is Tae Bo, he actually came on base Monday and worked out with us. It was supposed to be for active duty, but this spouse jumped in there like she was SOMEBODY! Lol! I had fun doing it, but he worked me OUT! Funny how you think you're in shape till you try something new. Of course, they say if you keep doing the same thing you'll get the same results, so I probably needed a change! I'm glad I'm sore-that means I did something. I stretched really well last night after strength training, but my body is so tired! I want to burn some fat tonight, but let the rest of my muscles rest.

mornin ladies
i kind of like the daily chat thread since i can only get on certain times of the day(joy of dial up)
i'm pretty pleased today and think i'm satisfied with the scale for now so i'm not gonna worry about stepping on it for a bit so i need to hide it now my goal is to get my hubby to take some pics of me cause some friends asked to see and usually i'm trying to take a pic of my reflection and its never right lol.
i have discovered something since i've lost alot of weight i want more nookie(hubby still thinks i'm hot stuff even tho i'm saggy and flabby in places lol)
dont know if y'all wanted to know that but i had to share lol my energy increase has been helpful only if i could get more sleep at times it would work out better.

Niclyn - 50 calories each?!?! Where can I find La Tortilla Factory tortillas?

On my feta vs. american cheese revelation yesterday... maybe instead of my normal egg white veggy omelette with american cheese i will get an egg white greek omelette (tomatoes, onion and feta).

To all of you that workout in the mornings - I hear ya! Some people think of working out as a hobby, but me it is just a part of my morning. I wake up I work out and then I get ready and go to work out. If it's after 12pm I cannot get myself to do it.

Cookie- I eat feta cheese now too. It's far less calories/points than any other cheese. I eat it in my wraps, my salads, omelettes, everything. YUMMO! I eat the La Tortilla Factory tortillas, too. I like the plain ones, and the sundried tomato ones. YUMMO again! I hope I can be like you and workout in the mornings after I start my new job. I can't drag myself out of bed at this point, but I'm hoping that when I start my new job on Feb. 7th and I don't have to leave my house until 8:40 a.m. then I'll get up at 7 and work out.

CookieMonster416- I've found them at the regular grocery store (not Wal-mart) one of the grocery stores have them set up on a rack in the produce section (why?) and at the other it is in the organic/ health food isle. I'd just ask next time your at the store, you never know where they might put them.

Cats tongue- I take metamucial ...they have a new berry flavored one that is only 20 calories, it's pretty good tasting, but it does have the grainy feel to it, but it's only mixed with 8oz of water so I just chug. It works pretty well. My Dr. told me to take it to help with my high cholesterol, but you cant ignore the other affects it has!
