Default how long...?

Sorry if there's already a thread for this...but I was wondering how long has it taken you to lose what you've lost so far? I know everyone is different, just want to see if my goals are do-able. TIA.

My 3.2 loss is one week Recently re-started... So I don't expect the 3+ loss to continue much longer. In the past I lost 25 in about 3 months. Everybody's different (as you said) and speed of weight loss really varies based on age, starting weight, diet plan.....

I agree--- it depends on a lot of things, age, starting weight, amount of activity...

The last time I lost a good amount of weight I lost 35 pounds over the summer (about 3 months). That was with exercising 5 out of 7 days a week and cutting out a lot of fat and eating better.

Start Date was Sept. 23rd, 2007. Since then I have lost 43lbs and still moving. Can't wait to be done! I eat healthy on a plan that I have chosen that works for me, exercise 5 nights/week X 2 hours/night.

OH - I know my profile shows I signed up in Sept 2003...but I only posted once and just refound the board this past year.

uhm. this may not be terribly motivating for you but... 4 years. but my results aren't typical, lol. if I had stuck to plan I would have probably met my goal a year ago or more.
i kind of fell off track for about 2 years.. i MAINTAINED but wasn't really working toward losing MORE. now that i've been back on track i've lost about 20lbs since late oct/early november. I expect to hit goal this year. I've finally found a plan that really works well for me and is, in comparison to everything else i've done, fairly simple.

I've lost 130 pounds (wow it still amazes me with that number). I started losing weight in May 2006, but I've really slowed down in the last 4 months (maybe only 15 pounds).

I started summer of 2006 so that's... a year and a half. But for the most part when I'm at school I just work on maintaining because I don't have the time to work out (although last semester I took a weight training class), so actively losing it's been maybe 9 months or so.

I started late July 07.... but like the others have said - it depends on your SW, activity level etc.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

I of course know it depends on how much you have to lose and your activity level and all of that. Just wanted to know other people's results.

Thanks again!

It took me 6 months to lose around 8 lbs. But you see, I'm a smalle person and it's easier if you're larger/taller to lose weight. The more weight to lose, the easier it is (I'm not saying that its easy to lose weight, but I know a 300 lb person would lose 10 lbs eating the same diet I would and doing the same exercise in 6 months)

I am averaging 1lb a week. That isn't a lot but I am getting where I want to be 1 lb at a time and that is ok with me.

Well, I've lost about 60 lbs. but not all at once. I lost 35 lbs. in about 5 months, then stopped for a while and maintained, then lost another 25 lbs. in 6 months. Now I've been maintaining (or stuck, whichever you prefer to call it, haha!) for 3 months so it's time to gear up again!
