Hello Everyone,
I am new here and am glad to see others dealing with the same daily grind of dieting. I use to be that girl who was always fit even if she ate junk all day sitting watching a movie. Then came a husband a daughter. Now I have gained 30 pounds and feel like fat. I held on to my size 7 until 6 months ago when I gave up and said I guess this is how I will always be. Now I am at it again, I want to loss it all this time. The biggest problem I face now with my eating is that I eat in my sleep. I know crazy. I wake up and there's meat and cheese and chocolate all over the place. But anyways I think I am going to simply count calories and see how I do. What does everyone else do? I can't wait to meet you all.

marissa hi :) i have a friend who does that! can you have dh "lock" you in the bedroom at night? put a chair in front of your door or something? how weird that must feel!

amber - hugs! again! you can talk about it here... this is a diet board and stress affects diet so as far as im concerned youre right on point. i know what you mean about feeling disallusioned re: marriage and all that hubaloo. in the last year and a half i went from being someone that believed in fairy tales to someone that believes that anyone claiming to have the fairy tale is just putting on a show. lol. if that makes sense! still trying to reconcile that cynicism with some hope :)

Well I had dance last night and my eating was GREAT! Yesterday the scale said 190 but this morning it read 191-192! I know that I have not gained any weight plus TOM is here in full effect so it may be that.

Now that I'm actually getting some excerise in I know I need to watch out for inches being lost because I know I am gaining muscle now. Before I was just watching what I ate and was losing mostly water weight but now I'm working out in a sense so I may gain a few pounds and just get smaller.

My muscles are not sore today!! The last two weeks they were very sore on Thursdays because I was not used to the dance class on Wed. but I'm fine today which means I getting better!

I'm keeping positive about the whole thing!!

Good luck to all with your eating!

I went down a size today!!! I was scared at first because I didn't know if I had lost enough to do so. I can actually breath! Plus there is one top I wore at 271 that I couldn't button past my boobs, no matter how much I pulled and pulled, but today I tried it and did so with much ease. I'm so excited!!!!

Amberelise 10-18-2007 05:50 PM

Congrats, Kim!!!! That's awesome. :)

Marrisa - I've heard of that. Wow. That would be so hard to fight, b/c who can control what they're doing when they sleep? I know I've seen an Oprah or something on it, but I don't remember what they did to make it stop.

jusj - muscle building is awesome!

hope2loseit4good - Nice job!!!! A loss always feels good. :)

My day has been pretty lazy. I have a midterm I should study for. But I had a nap instead. :D Horrible so nice. I didn't really mean to... it just sort of happened. So I'm just enjoying some lazing about before I get down to some hard studying.

Oh dear, ya'll....I'm down another couple pounds, but for whatever reason I feel crazy pudgy today. And it's a physical thing, rather than a mental thing... Whenever I get up or sit down, it feels like I'm kinda blob-ing from one place to another. Kinda like this guy...

Does anyone else get this? What's the deal? :?: So frustrating...

oh man, this week is tough. i have been eating more in the afternoons (working less keeps me at home more, and i only let myself eat when i am at the house) between yesterday and today i had 6 servings of trail mix, 4.5 of them last night. i just need to stop buying the stuff! ( not to mention that my husband made dinner last night and it was one of my favorites.) i am trying to focus on getting more fruits and veggies into my diet (especially the veggies). Last friday i was down to 151.9, today i am still stuck (from the weekend) at 152.2...gosh i need to watch myself more on Saturday. i usually let myslef have a few hundred ( like 300) more calories on satuday to give my metabolism a little jolt/ let myself rest a little on the dieting..i know that can be bad, but i think it will let me hold on to dieting longer. *sigh* here's hoping that 151 is back on the scale tomorrow morning..

kim, hope, jusj, sarah - good job on your losses and positive attitudes! keep it up!

Hey ladies,
Got to "hob nob" tonight at a charity dinner tonight and I am freaking. I am a good ole country girl and so are these folks. Country folks don't eat salads and pick at their food. I don't want to seem like I am better than to eat their food. Their will be people pushing wine and all that calorie packed stuff. My DH said I should eat my good meal at home before we go and then I can't stuff myself. He told me not to care what they thought, they were not the ones that would have to get up in the morning and run an extra mile to work off the shrimp rolls! He is getting much better with the dieting stuff. I have made so many changes in my cooking and he doesn't say anything. I wish his mother would do the same thing. Veggies do not have to be cooked with LARD!!!!

Oh, venting over. Haven't weighed today. Maybe I will just skip today.

Amberelise 10-19-2007 09:54 AM

Well, if you're going to drink, just do one glass of wine, sip at it and don't finish.

If you eat before, do something high in protein so that it fills you up. Now, if it were me and I ate before I would just be eating twice. You may have more willpower than me.

My diet coach tells me that I am more conscious of myself picking at food than anyone around me. (I, too, am from a southern family.) I recently hosted a bridal shower and had to watch what I was eating. When the cake came around I was up and talking to people. Someone once asked me if I was going to eat it and I assured them I would get to it, but I never even went back to my table. GOOD LUCK!!!

Soooo. . . since I've been the bearer of crappy news this week, how about some good stuff? Today my mom made it into work all on her own without calling me. Yay! Also, my boyfriend wants to go look at rings tomorrow. :)

readyfreddy 10-19-2007 12:38 PM

amber - thats very exciting! do you guys talk openly about getting engaged? how is everything going with his mom?

alcys mom - dont worry what other people think! easier said than done though right :) honestly... what i would do is save a lot of my cals for dinner (ie try to eat two 250 meals and then save 1000 for dinner or something) and just enjoy the night. eat reasonably (one shrimp ball not 10! hehe) and drink lots of water.

good luck and let us know how it goes.

im just trucking along here. :) no new updates.

i think i'm getting sick from stress and the baby is teething.....
is popcorn a better snack than chips? i've been snacking on popcorn alot lately and i dont even like popcorn. i'm ready to pull my hair out with the fact my hubby is asleep again and what do i do all day change diapers, feed the baby and all he does is whine when the baby is fussing.....stupid male pms
and i'm faily sure i worked out the 18th i think

DGAdDawg 10-20-2007 10:20 AM

Lissa- I would say popcorn is better than chips. Buy the little 100-calorie packs, I keep those in my desk at work. I say its better, my BFF is on weight watchers and she says her group leader is big on popcorn b/c of the fiber. Just go for the fat free stuff.

Re: Dancing

I love it!! I take a BodyJam class, but only once a week cause I get tired of doing the same routine after about 3 weeks. I wish I could find just a straight hip-hop aerobics class that changes each week.

Well, after running to Starbucks after killing yet another coffee pot, i'm off to eat a little breakfast, pick up my room and hit the gym before my mom gets in town. Have a great saturday everyone!

OptimistK 10-20-2007 04:29 PM

I measured today to see my stats inch wise. I was shocked that I lost 6 inches off of my waist. Is this real???? 3" off bust and 4" off hips. I just still don't believe that. Something HAS to be wrong!!!
