I don't really have a workout mix. I just put my ipod on shuffle and take off....

I want to make myself a CD of techno stuff I like, but I can never find the right songs on itunes...

Warm-up: "Fidelity" Regina Specktor

"Move Along" All American Rejects
"Hey Girl" O.A.R
"Punkrocker" The Teddybears (and Iggy Pop)
"I Believe in a thing Called Love" The Darkness
"Ohh La La" Goldfrapp
"Ain't no other man" Christina A.
"Crazy in Love" Beyonce
"Umbrella" Rihanna
"Raspberry Beret" Prince
"Come on Eileen" Dexy's Midnight Runners
"All Fired Up" Pat Benatar (awesome motivational song)
"The Obvious Child" Paul Simon
"Gonna Fly Now (Theme from "Rocky")" (because I'm awesome, it's retro, and you can throw your arms up like Rocky when no one's looking!)
"Beautiful Life" Ace of Base
"Psycho Killer" Talking Heads
"Love Song" Sara Bareilles

Cool Down: "Long Way Home" Nora Jones

Yeah.. So.. I have rather eccentric music tastes. I know. Bach's Cello Suite Prelude as done by Yo-Yo Ma used to be my warm up song.

itunes has a beta "just for you" function where they check up what you would like based in your library (and believe me, whatever it is you want, itunes has it. You just have to KNOW the artist and the type of music you'd like). I found a lot of music that I love from that "just for you" function.

I have a playlist on my ipod that I shuffle through. I change it up every few months. It's really full of oldies right now. But I find "Don't Stop Me Now" and "Any Your Bird Can Sing" a million times more energizing than anything by any pop Princess.
I also think Beth Ditto of The Gossip aside from having an amazing voice is such a great example of loving your body that she just has to be on there.
And then I just love musicals, and my current favorite is Reefer Madness (with Ms. Veronica Mars, Alan Cumming, and the guy who voiced the Crypt Keeper no less)

And here it is in it's current incarnation:
"All I Really Want" Alanis Morissette
"Rocky Racoon" The Beatles
"Nowhere Man" The Beatles
"Hey Bulldog" The Beatles
"Good Day Sunshine" The Beatles
"And Your Bird Can Sing" The Beatles
"Doctor Robert" The Beatles
"Got to Get You Into My Life" The Beatles
"Days and Days" Teegan and Sara
"The First" Teegan and Sara
"Infamous" Teegan and Sara
"Pulling Teeth" Green Day
"Standing in the Way of Control" The Gossip
"Listen Up!" The Gossip
"Jealous Girls" The Gossip
"The Monkey Song" Reefer Madness: The Musical
"Little Mary Sunshine" Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical
"Tell 'Em the Truth" Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical
"Reefer Madness" Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical
"Mary Jane/Mary Lane" Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical
"Finale" Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical
"Everythingthing's Just Wonderful" Lily Allen
"Shame for You" Lily Allen
"Friend of Mine" Lily Allen
"Cheryl Tweedy" Lily Allen
"Goodnight Moon" Shivaree
"Mrs. Robinson" Simon and Garfunkel
"Te Dejo Madrid" Shakira
"Estoy Aqui" Shakira
"La Tortura" Shakira
"Killer Queen" Shakira
"Fat Bottom Girls" Queen
"Don't Stop Me Now" Queen

and the one everyone should have on their workout mix

"Hey Ya" Outkast

(Although I also highly recommmend "Don't Stop Me Now" and "Fat Bottom Girls")

This is the best thread ever- I really need to download some of these songs/mixes- I can't work out with out a good mix! I always wonder how people can do it without any music at all.

I use my shuffle, and load it up with everything from Beyonce, the Killers, Scissor Sisters, Christina, Prince- even a little Britney Spears Anything with an energetic beat to it.
