Just wondering, do you weigh yourself with or without your clothes on. This morning I weighed myself right after I got out of the shower and weighed 166. Then after I was dressed for work I weighed myself again and I was 168. I usually go by my weight undressed. What about you?
I used to only weigh naked, first thing in the morning, after pee-before shower. And I think if you are going through weightloss/fluctuations, that's a good way to go to know exactly where you're at. I also used to weigh everyday. However, I've gotten to the point where I can read my body pretty well and weigh once a week or so and it's typically not in the morning and I'm usually fully clothed (but I do still pee before )
Not that anyone needs to picture this, but I definitey weigh naked. It reduced the amount of discrepancy/variance and keeps things somewhat more consistent (think about how much heavier a pair of jeans is versus some light cotton capris or something). I also weigh before I shower so my hair isn't wet.
I read the book YOU on a diet, and it says to weigh yourself in the morning, naked, before you get in the shower, and after you pee. It says that this is your true weight, because you are not retaining water. I do this once a week. I did this one day and then weighed myself again during the day with my clothes on and I was 5 pounds heavier...
I weigh myself first thing in boxers and a tee-shirt, which is what I usually sleep in. If I happen to be naked for some reason and don't want to put on the clothes, I'll weigh myself while holding them in my hands!
I guess I'm in the minority. I weigh myself with my workout clothes and tennis shoes on, but that stays pretty consistent. I use the scale in the locker room at my gym, and I'd rather not waltz around naked in front of everyone (don't have a scale at home). Also, I figure, that people tend to see me only when wearing clothes, so I like to count that as part of my weight.
I don't have a scale at home, so I weigh myself at the gym, right before my workout (just before lunch), in my underwear. I used to do after my workout, until I realized that my post-workout weight really fluctuates depending what I do and how much I drink.
I weigh myself everyday. I always do it first thing in the morning, normally in my PJs. However, my offical weight in is Saturday morning, first thing when I wake up, after going to the bathroom and prior to taking a shower. This is the only time I count it on my fitday and here (the only exception if I'm leaving to go out of town for a weekend then I will weight in the morning I leave).
I think the most important thing is consistancy. If you are going to weigh in wearing clothing then make it the same clothing if you are going to do it naked the always do it naked. I also try and go for about the same time of day.
