I love make-up! When I was younger (I'm 25 right now) I used to always buy all the expensive make-up, but these days I find it hard to spend 20 dollars on a mascara. I try my best not to go into Sephora b/c I can't not buy anything

As for fashion, I follow it and admire it, but tend to wear less trendy clothes these days. Maybe after I lose weight...

i have no clue about these things. i wish i did. but, now that i feel a little better about how i look, i want to put more effort into make-up, fashions etc. you know, take care of myself and find my style. but, what's weird is, i don't want to draw attention to myself. the weight loss comments are enough and image, fashion draw might be too much. did any of that make sense?
i think i also need someone to help/guide me with this stuff as i have nooo clue whatsoever!

I used to not care until I had a MAC artist do my makeup for my wedding. Now, I'm hooked. Fortunately we don't have a MAC store in the city I live and the nearest one is 45 minutes away, otherwise I'd be spending a LOT of my money there! Just recently have I started buying cute clothes again. We got a couple of stores in my town that at least have mostly decent plus-sized clothing (instead of the ugly muumuu's you typically see). When I dress better, I feel better about myself. I don't have to dress like an 80 yr old just because I'm fat!

amen, 2fat4myjeans! i LOVE makeup-i personally am a mac, urban decay, and too faced fan. and i consider myself to be fairly 'with it' concerning fashion...i might not be 'trendy', but i know what i like, and i know how to wear it.

torrid has always been good for plus sized clothing thats fashionable. ive been known to drop MASSIVE amounts of money there..and on a regular basis..lol.

but yes. looking good helps you feel good. and when you feel good, youre more likely to go well.

I'm almost 27 and I feel way too old for Torrid, plus when I do find something cute I die of sticker shock. I feel like there really isn't anything out there for late 20's & 30's... either business clothes, teenager-y clothes or 80 year old going to church clothes...

As for make up I think somewhere in the back of my mind is a voice telling me that there is no point in wearing make up because nobody will see past the fat to notice. I have been trying to take care of my skin though, I do not want to have a leather face like my mom.

I do most of my shopping at either Fashion Bug or New York and Company. They both have cute and trendy clothes, and I wear them both to work (I'm a teacher) as well as out and about on the weekends!

Fashion Bug is where I buy the bulk of my clothes, too. They are a little cheaper than Lane Bryant. I used to love NY & Company when I was thinner; do they have clothes I could wear as a fat chick, too? lol!

I shop everywhere-- My boyfriend manages an Old Navy-- so a lot of my stuff recently is from there... (They don't mess around when they have a Clearence sale!) Gap, NY&Co, Macys, Target even--

Just because I am fat doesn't mean I can't look good LOL... or atleast try to. And I feel bad for people who feel like they can't wear trendy clothes just because they are plus sized..The clothing market really doesn't help much with that either now does it ladies. Not many trendy plus size shops for us.

I love love love clothes and fashion and makeup. I am in love with the current Kimono fad. Empire waists really slim me, and the flow at the bottom of the shirts really help hide my pudge roll. I also find I am really into shoes now too.

When I was in highschool and I could actually wear normal sizes, I didn't really think twice about what was in style..Leave it to me to get into fashion once I am too big for it LOL.

I admit most of my cute tops I have to find on Ebay. The things at LB just seem to matronly..And that's the only plus store we have around here.

I just wanted to tell you..Just because you are the dreaded F-A-T doesn't mean people don't notice when you look nice. People will notice..trust me. You are a beautiful girl and a few extra pounds doesn't change that. So get rid of that F-A-T attitude and dig deep..find that inner confidence that tells you you ARE gorgeous.

Watch this video pleeease. It is so funny and so true.

I can't afford Sephora and Clinique stuff these days, but I still sometimes go crazy at the drug store on make-up. Also, I love getting manicures and pedicures on occasion or even just painting my nails before going out.

I was a LB fan for years, but I've shrunk out of their size range. I'm kind of intimidated about going into "regular" stores for clothes at the mall. Isn't that weird? I'm still getting used to the size I'm at, and for some reason I think people are going to think I'm too fat to be in xyz store or I'm scared that stuff won't fit. Weird psychology after being plus-size for years!
