Default Attack plan...

Hey ladies,

So, here's the thing. I was doing really, really well. I'd plateaued a bit, but I was going to the gym every day, eating right, not cheating. Then, this week happened. I got laid off - which meant a big night of drinking on Monday with everyone (because my whole company on the East coast got downsized), as well as a Valentine's Day feast on Wednesday. I don't think I've been affected too much, and I've stuck to my calorie counts on all the other days. But - here's the kicker - I haven't been on the scale since a week ago Wednesday, and now I'm afraid to look again.

Does anybody have any advice on how to get back on the horse, so to speak? I don't know how I'll cope with bad news. Maybe I should just stick perfectly to the plan for this week and then try the scale out again next Monday in the hopes that being good has banished any demons that might have crept up on me? Advice would be great!

Get back on that scale PRONTO. I do the SAME thing. Once i stop looking at the scale it is a LONG time before i get back on. I stopped looking at the scale right around Christmas....i just looked again this past monday. Believe me...the news was not good. Better to see bad news now than terrible news in a month or so.
I had lost 35 pounds...i have gained back 15 of that...hindsight is 20/20. if i could do it over, i would NEVER stop looking at that scale...keeps me in check. It KILLED me to move my ticker back in the other direction 15 pounds...it was devistating to see all that work disappear. Get back in gear honey while the game is still early.

Sorry to hear you got laid off.. that sucks. I think it's best to just get back into your regular eating patterns rather than trying to be "perfect" or whatever.

I agree... get back on the scale. You're still going to want to do this no matter what happens in your life, right? I'm really sorry you've had a tough few weeks. You can still do this!!

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I got back on this morning and it wasn't so bad - I actually lost! Not as much as I had hoped for, but it was still a loss! I guess with all the extra stress maybe my body has been burning extra calories - or at least that's how I'm rationalizing it.
