So, I jumped on the scale this weekend for the 1st time in a while...

  • And what was the conclusion?? Oh, that's right - I'm HUGE!!! and I just don't mean "oh, I need to lose 20 pds", I mean, I need to lose 126 pounds! I weighed in at 276.2 - how the heck did I let myself get to that point?? Yet, somehow, I didn't feel like crawling into a hole and never coming out. I'm taking this as a personal challenge! Weight issues run in my family, and I want to stop it. I'm only 23, but one day I would like to have kids... can you imagine how hard it would be to take of 125 pds PLUS babyweight at the same time? No thanks. I love swimming - ask me when the last time was that I was in a bathing suit infront of someone? Or, the fact that I don't wear shorts in the summer, I wear long pants because I have horribly ugly legs? I'm so tired of that. I know I wont lose the weight by summer, but who's to say I can't look better by then?
So, I now have to be accountable and this is my way of doing it!
Anyone else in the same boat???????
  • We're all on the same boat! Some of us only have a few pounds to lose, some have more than you, but we're all tired of hiding ourselves and the looks from people who think they're better than us because we have some issues we have trouble dealing with sometimes. One of the first steps people take is getting a good buddy to keep tabs on them, and posting any goals you have and plans you follow to make sure it's out there. Once you've said it, we'll all do our best to make sure you follow it.
  • Megan,

Sooooo in the same boat! I "jumped" on the scale (if I'd really jumped, it probably would have split right in half ) a few weeks ago and was NOT thrilled. Everyone here knows and appreciates what you're going through. I know it's tough to keep up here if you're not losing, but it REALLY helps. We're here to help and support!
  • Yes, I was there. Everyone is at some point in time (unless you're genetically blessed, which most women aren't!). But you can do it! Make small steps towards your goal. Think about making smaller goals and having one big goal. If you would have asked me when I was 230 lbs if I could ever be 125....I'd have laughed my *** off. But being 180, made me want to go to 160, then to 140, then to 125....because you're finally seeing just how easy it can be by making changes in your lifestyle. So good luck and if you need to PM me, feel free to!
  • I completely understand! I'm trying to lose weight so that pregnancy won't be as difficult (when I get that point.) At least, that seems to be my motivation and it is keeping me on track. You can do it!
  • I started out in that boat and I am not completly out yet. But I will be. And so will you. Tackling your weight is a difficult but very rewarding journey and you are moving in the right direction.
  • shrinkingchica - WOW!!! I'm inspired by the amount of weight you have lost!
When did you start this journey?
