I posted a little bit about myself in the profile thread but I wanted to properly introduce myself since I'll probably be hanging out here quite a bit during the next year.
I'm a newspaper journalist in my mid-40s. I'm married and have two children, one in the fifth grade and another who graduated from college three years ago.
I have just under 100 pounds to lose, close enough that I'm calling it an even 100.
I'm doing the Sonoma Diet because it's makes so much sense to me and it doesn't even seem like a diet at all. Starting out, my exercise program is just walking. My husband wants me to do that for as long as I'm on the first wave of Sonoma while he customizes a weightlifting and cardio program for me. My husband is an exercise & fitness nut -- he works out religiously -- so I have my own built-in personal trainer.
I've set a few mini goals to help me along the way.
1) Break the 200 pound mark (by March)
2) Be able to shop at Anne Klein's again (by August). Her largest sizes are 14.
3) Wear
this David Meister dress to a New Year's Eve party next year.
I'll probably set some more mini goals but those are the biggies!
Nice to "meet" you all.
