I swim 2 or 3 times a week for at least an hour. I use my treadmill on most days that I don't swim. Both are great for me. I am always up for an exercise challenge.

I swam competitively in high school too (20 years ago!!) and loved it. Just recently I've started incorporating swimming into my exercise routine. My gym just opened a new location that has an olympic sized, indoor pool and I can't wait to use it. I would definately be up for a challenge of some sort.

I'm not a very good swimmer, so I've not been in the pool much. But a few months ago, I started doing aqua aerobics. It's a lot of fun and it has really helped me tone up, especially in my legs.

yeah I havent swam any lenght type stuff in 7 years...so I imagin I won't be doing anything strenuous at first...maybe alturnate between a harder stroke and an easy one...but I want to do at least a half hour in the pool to start even if it is just easy strokes...

Are you thinking of distance or time?
I also swam in high school - 40 years ago! I'm up to .5 mile, 3 times a week

Hey ladies, Right now I am thinking time...I swam today, did ok, my arms got tired and "burny" the first few laps and I ended up doing "50's" then resting for 30 seconds...I think I swam for 25 mins...which is amazing for my first time back in 7 years!!!

so I am not sure how to work this since a few of us can do longer swims than others...any ideas???
