However, the folks at Ocean Spray do claim that 1/4 cup=one fruit serving. That is still 90 calories, though. I'd say an LAWL serving of craisins is probably closer to 1/8 cup= 1 fruit.
Yeah, I don't see why not. 1/8 cup isn't much for a fruit, but it sounds like a nice change of pace. I'll bet they would be killer in the big cookie recipe.
your "friend" is lucky to have you looking out for her. I hadn't thought about adding some to salad but it would just take a few to spice up a salad. Cooked up a bag of chicken today, got it all cut/shredded up and after all that I can't bear the sight of it. I live smack in the middle of BEEF country but still a chicken girl. Tomorrow is another day. Having beef with sauteed mushrooms, jalapenos, and onions--probably not the best choice with tomorrow being weigh day--oh well.
Oh Pink--a cook I am not so don't get too excited. My DH loves this though so we eat it about once a week. It's just lean ground beef patties (93/7%) and I just grill or panfry them. (it's also good with chicken). Anyway, I just buy the pre-sliced mushrooms at Walmart (styrofoam container), slice 1 onion, 1-2 jalapeno-depends on how hot you like and tonight I am throwing in some fresh garlic since I have it on hand. Sautee all the veggies in Pam butter spray or I can't believe it's Not Butter. I guess I just eyeball the veggie portions--figure if I go over it's not the worst damage I could do--I LOVE sauteed mushrooms! Not much to it but if you need a change of pace it's a good change. Hope you weren't expecting gourmet!
Well thanks for all the replies - she is the one who started the craisins and almonds on a bed of spinach with LF honey mustard dressing - I do have it occasionally too - but it is a wonderful salad - very different from the normal everyda salad.....
