If you get the same kind of crappy response from the other doctor at your next appointment - regardless of how much you've lost - I would definitely be on the search for a new one. Losing nearly 50lbs is AWESOME no matter how high your starting weight is; the doctor should have praised you for your efforts and encouraged you to keep going. You should expect nothing less. Be assertive about it. She had no right to treat you in that manner.

First of all, fabulous job on the weight loss.
Second, I have some issues with my doctor, but even he did a rah, rah fist punch in the air when I lost some weight! And it was nothing close to 47 pounds.
I won't say get another doctor, since I know how stressful and hard that can be. But please don't let this woman bring you down.
And back to the beginning with WAY TO GO!
Julie
Thanks again everyone for the inspiration! Julie, I think that may be why I'm willing to wait one more checkup, with the other doctor I see, before I jump ship. It is stressful. I just changed OB/GYN's over the summer after much procrastination. I didn't want to get on the scale and have another doctor look down his nose at me, not to mention how humbling it is to have that darned well woman exam! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new Gyn, however. If I could see him for everything I would!!
