DECEMBER Points Challenge

  • December...The year is almost over...How have you done this year?? There is still time!! I know, you think I am crazy. Why would you possibly join a challenge when the holidays are coming?? BECAUSE THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING!!!! We need a challenge to help keep us on the straight and narrow for the next month? It's somewhere to check in...some freindly competition. Let's see who can stay away from the sugar cookies!! Come join us for our monthly challenge!!

    Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points (no columns please). That way you always know where you are and so do I! I will calculate and post the totals, on a weekly basis.

    For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!

    Here is how it's going to go. Starting Friday, December 1, 2006. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.

    2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
    1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
    1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way)

    Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.

    This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!

    If you list your "plan of attack" here, please make a point to also post it in the Point Challenge Plans. I delete all the posts after I have tallied so this thread doesn't become unmanageable, but it's nice to be able to go look at what someone's plan is. I have created a new Point Challenge Plans post for 2006 becuase the old one started in 2002 and it was pretty outdated. So please repost your plan (if you want to!)

  • I'm in again! I may tweek my plan since I've maintained two weeks in a row so I'm not doing something right even though I'm exercising and keeping my calories below 1500 (water is definately not my problem).

  • I'm in, but I have some changes this month. Oh, and I won't be able to win because I'm kind of screwed on the exercise thing this month since I just sprained my knee!

    26 WW points per day (this is a reduction)
    6 8-oz. glasses of water per day
    at least 30 min cardio AND/OR at least 20 min strength training per day

  • I'm in. This is a challenge I can do. Today was a TERRIBLE food day (for which I take full responsibility ) BUT I get 2 points, 1 for water and 1 for exercise. (I'm starting small, 10 minutes walking a day.)

    When I first started - I had the points swapped around for exercise and food. So I am going to correct them in this post...

    1st - Exercise and food - 3 points
    2nd - Food and water - 3 points
    3rd - Food and water - 3 points
    4th - Food, water and exercise - 4 points
    5th - Food, water and exercise - 4 points
    6th - Food, water and exercise - 4 points
    7th - Food, water and exercise - 4 points
    8th - Exercise and water - 3 points (no food points- went to the movies - did not go overboard - but I did have some M&M's) Oh well..........




    For the 3rd - I get 3 points 2 for food plan and 1 for water.

    For the 4th - I get 4, 2for food, 1 for water and 1 for exercise.
