Let me see.. I plan on working hard through June.. then, i hope to take the kids to the zoo/park closeby every other weekend or so.. then a long vacation in August in time for our annual Fair and Rodeo around here. I really dont have summer plans.. i need to make some!!!!!

Actually this will probably be the first summer that we don't take a "big" trip. So, no "big" plans here. DH will be working in Seattle (2.5 hours away) during the week, so weekends will be family catch up time. We go stay on the Oregon coast a couple times every summer and will do that again. With 2 little ones (2 & 1 years old), all-day day trips where we don't have a hotel room or somewhere for down time are a little tough, so I suppose I'll be going to the park a lot! I need to see what kind of festivals are happening around here. Food (and the Fresh Hop Ale Festival) festivals aside!!

Toad Suck Days? I am not sure that I want to know...but what the heck does that mean?? : )

We go fishing for a few days every June with my inlaws at a small lake in Wisconsin. This time we are only staying 2.5 days and then crossing into Minnesota to go see the CUBS play the Twins. It should be fun. Other than that not much going on as we have already been to most of the baseball games we have tickets to this year. We have lots of yardwork and stuff to catch up on so that will consume most of our free time this summer

:) Okay, sit down, everyone, and I will tell you a story. A story about the mighty Mississippi... uh, sorry, about the almost mighty Arkansas River and the strong... uh, sorry again, the drunkardly men who made their lives on the barges there.

There was a lock along the river, and it took about 2 hours for the barges to rise in the lock (or be lowered) before they could make their way. 2 hours without much to do for our stout, uh.. "stouted?" heroes was just too much to bear (at least sober), and a bar soon opened nearby.

Well, this was in the olden days, and they didn't have much in the way of your fancy wines and imported beers- or glasses for that matter. They had whisky, and they had it by the jug. The rivermen would sip from their jugs genteely, and then just as genteely make a face not unlike that of a toad. Hence, the act of drinking whiskey in this manner became known as "sucking the toad", and the town, that of course sprang from the bar as they tend to do, became known as Toad Suck, Arkansas.

I believe the original building's location is now a general store-type place that still had a working coca-cola machine from the 40's when I was last there. That's about the neatest thing about the town. (The machine, not the store.) ;)

Oh, and I didn't live there. I lived in Conway, Arkansas. Otherwise known as "The Athens of Arkansas", and half-naming-place of the great Conway Twitty.

Alas, no big trips for us. I know I'm really going to focus on exercise. I'd like to lose 20 lbs this summer but no pressure, what I really want is to get back my stamina. My birthday is in July and we'll probably try to make a weekend of it (somewhere here in Florida) since we aren't getting a chance to have a proper "honeymoon". It'll be part of a short series of "mini-moons". In August, we have my DF's family reuniun to attend (fun....). Oh yeah, and I think I'll get a job and try to make some money, imagine that ;)!

Not planning to do any traveling this summer. Will be training for some races, I do have plans to run 3 (or 4) 5K races. Got to take my bike out alot this summer too. And will do as much swimming at the lake as humanly possible! Happily, Tae Kwon Do will continue over the summer this year. YAY!!!!!
The Lee's Tae Kwon Do annual campout will be in August this year so that will be fun.
Lots of stuff to look forward too!
