As many of you know I went to Seattle for 5 GREAT weeks!! I took time off work to make myself the priority, and wow.. time sure has gone by quickly! I spent most of those 5 weeks training for a 10k run (which is tomorrow!), eating properly and just generally relaxing.
My numbers are in... I lost a total of 5.5 pounds! (possibly more, I weighed today even though I'm bloated to all heck and back) And I lost a total of 12 inches!! They came from everywhere you can imagine, and I've been told my body looks "tighter".
Whats been the best change is my new outlook, I realized I can't continue with what I was doing... work being the biggest problem. I've been so devoted to a job that really doesn't value me, and I've let my health and my commitments slide. No more!! I am looking for a new job, and I'm going to feel NO guilt about taking 5 days off to spend my grandma's 70th birthday with her. My family is my priority, not my nearly min wage job.
I'm not sure what my future holds, but I know it includes ME, not the person people expect/want me to be.
I loved reading your post -- because you've got this great attitude! And it's not just about your weight but your health and your life! Congratulations and good luck tomorrow!
Aimee ~ I think it's great how positive you are and what your priorities are. Your family will always be there and that's great you are putting them first. Sometimes it just takes a break, like you did, from your job to give you time to really see how things are, and now you're doing something good about it. They will be sorry when you're gone, but that's their loss and your gain! With the great positive attitude you have, you'll have no problem with finding something else. Also, great job on your weight loss and good luck tomorrow!
You sound like a whole new person! You deserve a better job and you deserve to make yourself a priority. I am very proud of you for realizing that YOU are the most important person in your life. I will be sending good vibes your way.
Congratulations! I wish you lots of luck tomorrow. It sounds like you've made a good decision regarding your job. You know, our jobs could replace us in a few weeks, but to our families, we're irreplaceable.
Hey, Aimee! You've got some great priorities in place, girlfriend. Good to see it. Go conquer the world!
Can't wait to hear how the run goes! Howie and I are doing a 3-mile walk for the American Heart Association and I know that will be a push for me. I *really* admire you doing a 10K run. Wow!
Well... that's wonderful, Aimee! I'm so glad that taking this time has had such a positive impact upon you. You sound so strong and vibrant. It was a real pleasure reading that post.
