not sure why, but I always weigh more in the evening than in the morning. I think it has to do with how much food and water you have had that day. But I am not 100% sure about this.
When you do weights you are actually damaging the muscle, intentionally. So it goes "ouch what are you doing to me?" and retains water to heal itself. So that registers on the scale as a gain.
I try and weight two days after weight training before weighing in.
Yupyup...worked muscles retain more water. Also, as previously mentioned, I always weigh less first thing in the morning than at any time later in the day simply due to normal fluctuations based on what you've eaten/drank/done.
Why would you weigh more after a workout than you did in the morning of the same day?
I guess I'm the opposite. Depending on how much I sweat (usually buckets!), I usually will weigh less after a good workout than I did first thing that morning. But then I drink loads of water to replace the fluids I just lost. So, the scale might show a loss, but it's not fat, just water. He-he, got me thinking about that commercial where the guy runs around the machines at the gym and then jumps on the scale and "thinks" it's broken since there's no change!
Well I got some answers just by reading the tread. But, I noticed I weight more in the morning then the afternoon and some times after working out with weights i weight more and working out without weights i weight in less that day I dont know when is the best time to weight yourself? When I follow what I read on sites about weight in its still dont work for me so I just weight in when empty my bladder and didn't eat within a hour of weightin.
It depends what exercise you're doing. I find that if I do weights I weigh the same or slightly more when I finish, if I do cardio I weigh up to two pounds less immediately after depending how far I've run and how much I've been drinking while doing it. Of course, if I've lost that much in sweat I need to rehydrate fairly quickly afterwards, so it's not a permanent loss, but if I pop on the scales immediately after running and before drinking the numbers can be very nice looking
It depends. I usually weigh first thing in the morning and after every trip to the bathroom until I've eaten or drank something. Then I stop weighing because I know it will be higher afterwards.
But if I've had a really good day sticking to my diet, and not eating too much I will weigh in the evening. If the scale then is low, or nearly as low as it was in the morning, I know that my weight in the morning will be lower than it was this morning.
I always count my lowest weight of the day as "my weight". Anything higher is either food consumed, or water or whatever hasn't been digested yet. You can't weigh that "lowest" weight if you don't weigh it. So any number above that, that can be peed out or not put in to your mouth yet is something other than YOU.
Thanks Chicks!!! I weighed 1.5 pounds less this morning....so the darn muscles must of been holding on to water. Have a great day or evening where ever you are!
