Congratulations, everybody!!!! We rule!!!
A guy I work with asked if I was losing weight & told me I looked nice. He himself lost 25 pounds, so that didn't feel like an empty compliment at all. :) |
I just ran for the bus. Let me explain. I'd been in the pub for a while (approx 1 bottle of wine...) and headed off to get the bus. I got to the stop and the road was closed to traffic. I headed back towards the stop before and saw the bus midway between the two stops. I waved to it but the driver refused to let me on. So I ran along side it until it stopped for me. Once I got on a bloke said to me "I saw how far you ran for this bus, you're amazing!"!!!!
(and the truth is, it was just a warm up length, other than the fact I was in work clothes). |
You just keep running and running and running Helen.
Let's hope that you weren't in high heals.LOL Leec |
Helen, you ran beside a bus? My goodness! I've begun running recently and am in awe of THAT!
Well, I was feeling discouraged this morning, I have been going VERY hardcore for nearly a week, and am not getting a scale to weigh myself until Monday.. so I revisited my measurements and redid them. Turns out I've lost an inch off my bust (thank goodness!!), 1/2 inch off each thigh, and 1 inch off the fat above my knee each leg! And my 1/2 inch off each calf. I guess this little plan I've made formyself IS working! I am thrilled, and can accept if I don't lose weight on my scale.. inches are more important! -Aimee |
Congrats Aimee. Sometimes seeing the inches coming off is better than seeing the scale move.
|
There were lots of traffic lights to slow it down a bit! ;)
|
Still, the bus driver must have been impressed as well!
Citycowgirl - my goal is to ultimately lose inches, I am realllly trying to focus on that. My 5 week goal is to be in a REGULAR size 16, and I've figured out all the inches I need to lose to do that. I'll get there :) -Aimee |
i am new and umm so hate to sound stupid but what is NSV mean ?
|
NSV means Non Scale Victory. This is where we list our achievements that are non-scale related.
|
oh ty so much, i was trying desperately to guess and gave up lol finally asking. i dont think i have any NSV just yet, i did walk the mall 2 times today which is 1/2 a mile one direction so 2 times round trip is 2 miles. i think a NSV for me right now would have to be just feeling i am at the point where i am ready, as in really ready for change because its becoming enjoyable and i dont give it a second thought its feeling natural for me and so i think thats a sign that this time is it , finally it.

I have one to share. I just checked my BMI for the first time in months and I'm happy to say I've made it out of the obese category and now I'm just happily overweight!

Woo, congrats Dee! I'm about where you were when you started, so your progress is really inspiring. :)
My NSV is noticing today how incredibly muscular my thighs are. Sure, they still have the inner-thigh flab, but the fronts are solid. |
Hi.. :)
Last week was kind of a lazy week for me. I didn't really start getting into the swing of the exercise program I'm developing for myself until spring break, so it was really jarring to go back to school...and I slacked off a lot. :-/ Today I wanted to slack off again, but instead, I strapped on my walking shoes to go walking...I typically do about an hour and a half a day, 6 days a week. TODAY I only did one hour...because I ran a bit, too :) I was so pleased. I haven't been able to run since 6th grade. :) |
