Hello I'm Back

  • Hello Everyone, I am back after being a memeber for a very short time. I am trying to really lose some weight this time. I haven't really tried anything for any long length of time and I haven't dieted much throughout my life, so it is a new step for me. I work in an environment that requires alot of standing and the pain I am feeling is getting to be unbearable and I have zero energy.
This week I have cut out soda entirley and increased my water intake. I also have switched to a better breakfast and lunch. Dinner is a little tricky, I feel like I am eating less, but I do not want to eat meals separately from my family. Is there a good online calorie counter that can help me stay at about 1500 calories? I am a bit of a techie and would like to use my excel program to help me count calories.
I am looking to help establish some friendships. I love my husband and my mom alot, and I like work, but I would like to keep it at work. I feel like I need to reconnect to women my age, and I am hoping this will help.
    Thanks-
    Michelle
  • Many members here swear by FitDay as a calorie counter. You could give that a try.

Welcome back. Glad you found your way back. It can be hard but we can both do this.
  • mamamichelle... I am older but would like to give you a bit of advice... I think it best that you tell the family you are serious about weight loss and need their support, without the support of your loved ones, it will be very difficult... I also stand at work and sometimes the pain makes me want to sit down and cry ... so i can relate to what your going thru.
Fitday will help you for sure... I use another site called spark people.. where you can input your f ood and exercise and get motivated... take care and I wish you much success on your weight loss journey
Before I go, one of my main sources of support is my Tops group... wonderful bunch of ladies.... India
  • to the board Michelle! This is a great place to meet people going through the same journey as you are going through.
  • Good for you for taking those first steps toward health!

There are several calorie counters online like fitday.com and calorieking.com. You should be able to eat whatever the rest of your family eats (and if they're not eating healthy foods, maybe it's time for a change for them, too?)--just eat less. And move more. Yup, eating less and moving more is really the way to go.

Stick around and post often. You'll get lots of motivation and support from people here.
  • Welcome back!
