The Shrinking Woman

  • Quote:
After spending eight years trapped in a 619-pound body, Connie Jackson suffers excruciating stomach pains and undergoes radical bariatric surgery to lose 64% of her bulk. Dramatic cosmetic procedures will restore her body to how it once was.
Did anyone see this on Discovery Health last night?

  • I didn't see it and we don't have TV, can you tell me a little more about it? How's she doing now?
  • I did see this. It was rather hard to watch some of it, but it certainly might be a deterrent to gaining a lot of weight when you watch what she went through. And I had no idea that obesity can cause gynecological problems that could make someone rendered infertile.

She looked rather malnourished to me--her hair was like straw, which I believed was caused by a vitamin deficiency. I hope she can get the remaining surgery, but what a price to pay. It was sad to see her turn to food when she was upset, which does show that she needs more than just help for her physical self.
  • mthrgoos68--- The woman had lost 419 lbs by having gastric bypass surgery. Well that left her with loose baggy skin on her arms, legs, buttocks and stomach. The show was about her having plastic surgery to remove it. It was a horrific ordeal.

I agree Sheila...she did look malnourished. I hope things are going better for her. I sure would like an update to see how she is.
  • Thanks for letting us know when it is next on. Y'all are talking about it on the board and I still haven't seen it!
