That had to feel amazing, Helen!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!
Yeah on the inches gone, Sheila! Today it's exactly 6 weeks since I started living healthy. I cannot believe the difference I feel in my energy level - and also of course in how my body is changing. |
This migh tnot seem like much, but I can now wear my hoodie comfortably, while it's zipped up! My jeans fall off me, and so do my favorite pair of pants, that were starting to get snug when I first started my journey

I have an NSV to report... I've been "shopping" in my closet since I started losing weight, but I'm getting to the point where I will not have clothes if I go down another size. So, last night we went to the mall and I tried a few things on... and I FIT into 20s!!!!! They're a bit tight, but they definitely fit!! I was so excited, given that I started all of this NOT fitting into 28s!!! Boy was that depressing!
Initially I was really excited, as you can imagine. But as we wandered around the mall (something I have not really done for a while... why bother when NO ONE sold clothes I could fit into)... but then I started getting a little depressed. I've lost nearly 65 pounds, and still cannot fit into any clothes at most stores (who only go up to 16)... criminy, I let myself get SOOOOO fat to begin with! I guess I never *really* saw how fat I *really* was... And while I have been very successful losing, it's very sobering to realize that I am still nearly MORBIDLY obese. I'm not really depressed about it, as I choose to focus on the SUCCESS aspect of it, but it definitely tinged the experience... |
This is an odd NSV but I must tell you that I was feeling rather hopeless about things until I posted here yesterday and received such lovely motivational feedback. The support encouraged me to get back on track and set my goals. It feels SO good to be back at it again - that is a victory for me!

Wow you guys are really inspiring! I can't wait for the day that I can fit into a 10 or 12 or !gasp! a size SMALL.:) That's a distant dream right now, but my NSV is that I gave away a trunk full of clothing today sized anywhere from 28 - 32. All of it hopelessly too big for me.
I've not told many people that I was trying to lose weight, I guess if I failed I didn't want the world to know. Co-workers, people at church and other acquaintances are finally beginning to notice that I've lost weight. Too bad that at my weight you have to lose 64 pounds before people are sure if you are losing weight. :smug: Tammy |
Everyone is having some fantastic NSV's this month! Congratulations everybody.

I measure insted of weigh and have lost an additional 2 inches off my waist and hips. Hoorah!!!!! It was just the boost I needed to keep me motivated.

Wow there are some great victories this month. You all are doing fantastic.
Helen I can so relate to you with the sibling rivalry. My 3 brothers have always been much smaller than me. Well I got my wedding ring re-sized and I went from a size 14 to an 11 1/2. Two of my brothers could not get it on and the smallest of my brothers it fit the same as me. That was such a good feeling. My one brother also takes a bigger shirt than me. I know I should probably not gloat like that but after a lifetime of them making fun it sure feels good. |
Speaking of resizing wedding rings...
I sense mine is getting ready to fall off! While that's great and all, I figure I'm a long way from any kind of goal weight, and am reluctant to get it resized twice. Any advice? |
What great encouragement these NSVs give. :)
Good going, Denise! :carrot: It's great to see those numbers go down. After your success, Howie, you deserve to feel very proud of yourself. There aren't many people who've managed what you've achieved, so who can blame you for being a little smug about it? ;) My wedding ring is too loose as well, wyllenn. (Well, it was before the last few day's pesky water retention. ) It's not so loose as to slip off just yet, but when it is, I'm making a trip to the jeweller with a job lot of all my rings. I can't imagine my fingers will shrink too much more despite my still having a lot of weight to drop. |
All of these NSV's sound awesome!
My wedding ring still doesn't fit~sigh~,BUT,a ring that my Dad gave me years ago does now...it's my birth stone, but I'm using it as my wedding ring till my real one fits. That way everyone will know I'm taken ;) |
I wore mine on my ring finger as long as I could and then switched to my middle finger until I lost enough weight to get it resized.

well, here is my nsv. i have been walking around the neighborhood every night. i have also been doing water areobics. well i got a phone call from this lady in the neighborhood( she called my friend becky to get my number because she didn't know my name) and she called me and said that she has been noticing how i have been losing weight and she wanted to know if i wanted her eliptical trainer since her son bought her a new one for christmas.
my second one is when my husband was hugging me he told me he can feel that i lost weight. i guess that means something...since he is the only one who could tell that one! |
yay - I can finally button ALL the buttons on my winter coat comfortably!
