Hey, Paul -- welcome! We're pleased as punch to have another man around. We ladies need the perspective. I'm that guy above's other half. Off to check out your blog!
:) Kimberley |
I have to pop in to say, man, you have a real designer's eye. Your webpage's index is so slick. Love the retro header!
P.S. And the apple faces jiggle!! :D Love it! Content's really good, too. I enjoyed reading about you. |
Love the coasts, eh, Nash?
I'm on Vancouver Island, in Parksville..never lived anywhere else, but I sure wouldn't want to. I love it here, and try never to take it for granted...I'd love to see the rest of the country though! Take care, Linda |
That page with the hamsters is so funny! All I could think was an announcer should be there, shouting into the mic, "Are you ready to rummmmmmmble?!"
|
Why don't I see any hamsters?! :tantrum:
Did you go to Sheridan, Paul? You look familiar - did you use to hang out at the Coffee Time across from the college (before they made it non-smoking?) ;) I'm just across the Smith-Triller in "the Abbey". Small world...when we first moved to Canada from England we lived in "the Beeches" and then near Birchmount/Danforth. I used to go to the old Riverdale Zoo all the time. I was reading on your site about the BIG blackout of a couple of years ago. In fact, I joined the 100lb. club forum during the week of that blackout and told of my unexpected exercise of having to walk down the stairs from the 56th floor of First Canadian Place - hard to believe it was two years ago (and yes, the stars were lovely, even though I saw them from my car where I sat in traffic on Bay Street for a couple of hours!) |
Jill, the hammies are linked to in the July 28th entry. Here ya go: http://www.losingpaul.com/hammies.jpg

Hey, there!
Love your website, very cool. Those hamsters were hilarious! :lol3: Welcome to the board, hope to see more, or would it be 'less', of you around. ;) |
Hey Kimberly, Thanks, i am a fan of retro, have a bit of an obsession with neo-1950's style. I am a Graphic Designer by trade, but purely print. This is my first foray into digital. I had some help programming wise by a friend, its funny i never realised how simple html actually was untill i disected an actual page to find out.
Jill i did use to hang out there all the time and i did go to sheridan, that is hilarious. Now i didn't stop going because of non smoking i stopped because i finished school and moved to the city. Are you a Sheridan grad or something. Funny you look familiar to but i thought maybe it was a case of just seeing you here before while i lurked. Linda, take a visit to Newfoundland, some of the most beautiful land i have ever seen. Im an east coaster by birth. Born in New Brunswick, and lived in Cape Breton and Newfoundland before heading out to the praries, and then to where I am now, Ontario. One of the greatest things i have done in life is two summers in a row i got in my car and drove all around Canada and the US. So many people from my generation take pride in backpacking overseas, but i find it really strange that i have never met anyone who has truly traveled North America. It is such an awesome place, and i am glad i got to know all of it. P |
@Paul: I never really had any problems finding clothes that fit. The problem was finding clothes i like that fit.
@Howie: I know I know, i should get some progress pics. 3 weeks from now, i'm going camping at the same exact place than last year. I'll try something funny: i'll take pictures with the same exact clothes and the same background; but with over a 60 pounds difference. |
Sound good frenchie. I will look forward to seeing them.
Paul what part of the print business are you in? I work for RR Donnelley a print company out of Chicago. I am in there direct mail plant. Yes I print all those wonderful peices of junk mail that you through away. So maybe you have tossed some of my work. I do Publisher Clearing House for Canadian mailings. So don't just throw it away next time. LOL |
Paul, I actually am in Stoney Creek (Hamilton), Ontario. I too love both coasts, (I worked out in Vancouver, BC) for a co-op term in University, and a lot of my family are from Nova Scotia, so I have spent a few summers on the east coast as well. Ditto on the website.

I am actually a Graphic Designer for a company, a tv company actually called Breakthrough Films & Television, I am one of the lucky few Graphic Designers who has an in house job. I do all their magazine, TV Guide ads. But on the side for the company i also consult the design for merchandise on a particular show we have, probably the only one we produce that you may have heard of because its been extremely succesful on the Cartoon Network in the states. Atomic Betty. I consider my self fortunate here cause I love my job. I'm lucky its in house because untill recently i have done no online work, and thats what employs most designers. Paul |
I pretty much just post here. I joined the small group where holly (gonzostar) hangs out but I haven't been there in months. I also post on a pregnancy/parenting board at another site.
