Angi, that's a riot! Whoever came up with the idea of deep fried candy bars, oreos and twinkies has to be a sadist! I remember hearing about deep fried Mars and Snickers bars from a friend in Scotland but never thought the craze would make it over the ocean. It's one of those things that sounds rather disgusting, but I'd love to try it (just once...well, a bite anyway). Talk about a train wreck. It's probably worse for you than the Quebec "national" dish of Poutine (french fries smothered with cheese curds and hot gravy - sounds horrible but is to die for).
SAPF - glad you worked things out with your friend and won't be losing a valuable friendship over his insensitive b/f. :) |
Angi - You cracked me up.
Sandi - I am feeling MUCH better, I must say. Yeah, my friend is sucky and I think I'm better off completely alone than with a 1000 friends like her. I'm glad we "broke up" because now I have more time to be with ALL of my friends, not just one. :) My sister got some tests back from the Mayo and she has Lupus and acid reflux disease. Lovely. Well, they've got her on new meds and they seem to have a "plan of attack" so, things look kind of hopeful. It was just heart-wrenching to see a 27 year old who has a hard time walking and cries because of the pain. It's a BIG part of why I've decided to take care of my body NOW, not in 30 years..... you only have ONE, ya know? Hey, I went to a concert tonight at the college (Northland College, it's an environmental liberal arts college here in town, it's funny that there's one in a town of rednecks, I know!:lol: ) Anywhoo, I'm way into cultural things out there in this big world and this women's jazz group called "Straight Ahead" was made of 5 African-American ladies and they were AWESOME. I mean, AWESOME. They did Areatha, Bessie, Etta, the whole gang! It was great. The best part is, they were *real* women, if ya catch my drift... and they were all SO confident. It really gave my self esteem a boost. Yay. Can ya'll believe it's almost OCTOBER????? :O :O |

Wow, it is hard to believe how much can go on in only one morning -
Apryl..... you couldn't possibly be as bad a driving as me and I (eventually) passed. I had to take drivers ed 2xs! I hit parked cars, ran stop signs, and got lost sevral times! .. and the first time I flunked the driving test (I flunked 3xs!) was because I drove on the wrong side of the road, nearly hit another car head on and then crashed the car on the curb when I parked hard enough to knock the hubcap off and bend it! Holly, I am sorry...I weep for that girls family......... MG - after suffering a moving related injury (that is why I am typing one handed) - a small tidbit of advice - It is OK to ask for help with the heavy things! |
