Carrots: good for you! Let's hope it's just a blip for you to be with us. I aim to get out of the 230s, but it's been slow going this time but I aim to kick it in the fanny.

Dina: Glad exercise went well for you. I hope you find that comes easily.

Ennay: I hate when things don't sprout when you'd like them to. I just repotted new plants as I side plant annuals and I lost the bottom row in one trough. However, replanted and looking good now. Garden is getting really green - fantastic! We are to be hit by storms this aft/evening, so that will either help or cause issues, but I hope more on the helpful front. I need to see how my romaine is doing, always nice right out of the garden.

slash: Ok were on - I'll weigh tomorrow morning and we try to loose 2 lbs each. Maybe that will bring us back into line and finally getting that darn scale to move down. Is it your DH that plays or your kids for ball? I secretly hope for rainouts when my child has games, I have never been a good bench sitter and have done it a lot.:D

AM: My clinic has a new mammo machine, this one I discovered has a screen you can see peripherally that tells how much poundage/force is being used to turn your boobs into a pancake. Today I learned that 17lbs was the magic number, I am fairly certain that's what it was showing as it fluctuated as the scan finished and pressure pulled back. Alas, that's a piece of trivia for me today.

I have been pretty good with calories today, I have logged what I will make for dinner and i have strawberries to cut up for dessert. So I may come in under, which would be fantastic. And if I can add in some movement, even better.

Can I say - I have an odd neighbor. He rides a harley, around his back yard a few times and then shoots out the front to take it on the road. Not sure why, he does it at least once a week, the rest of the time its in and out of the garage. I liken it to training wheels - hah.

Happy loss.

Slash: Well my weigh in for my challenge with you: 237.2. I seem to forever be bouncing right back to this crappy number. Let's see if we can both shift and find our way to the 220s. I am more than ready and happy to leave this darn decade WAY behind.

AM: Moving, the suns out after a huge rain storm last evening. My weight I suspect is a bit down from where it was yesterday but I start afresh w/a clean weigh in as I made it a point to do this morning. TOM found me as well. Splendid. I will do my best not to say chocolate is my main food group during this time. :D I kept under calories yesterday, good thing there were a few times I thought I needed food and worked through it by ignoring or having water. Changes to be made, that's for sure.

Wishing you all a good day.

Lemonthyme, silly question here but what does d.h stand for?

dina: DH for me is dear husband - I used it in the past on other forums. Sorry if it's not the usual, I fall into bad habits! :D

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I have been here and yes, I did have to "up" my ticker a few pounds but not too bad considering that when I first found this site I weighed in at 306! I have kept most of my weight off for the past 3 years but have a bit of catching up to do. Glad to find this thread again... I just made it out of the 230s so here we go again!!!! I look forward to catching up on all the posts.

lemonthyme 06-02-2016 08:23 AM

Misti: welcome!

Slash: how's it going? I weighed this morning and I am happy to report its moving off.

Hello everyone!

AM: I hopped on the scale this am and even w the arrival of the monthly season of wanting to eat chocolate I have been doing well avoiding it. I've had a few moments where that feeling for need crept into my day yesterday but I did fairly well. So with that: 235.8 so 6/10s to loose for my 2 lbs. I hope I can do this and more so.

My little app I'm using to track my weight I hit my mini goal (again as it resets if I gain back) and the new one is 229. I guess it's easier to shoot for smaller group of numbers and then the 100 lbs doesn't seem so daunting long term and this has been long term.

I'm working on a quilt for one of my kids so today I will have to make sure to get out and bike or walk for a short but less I sit on my bum all day. Any movement is a help. I also need to check my garden out and see what needs to be done and the progress of growth.

Happy moving off the pounds!

Lemonthyme: Sorry I didn't post yesterday. So busy. I started at 239.4. Jeez.... Anyway, not seeing much of a change yet, but you sound like you're killing it! I have a feeling that I'm going to have a rough time of it this week. This baseball tournament is the Junior College World Series. They have it here every year and although I don't have a child playing in it, I just love these baseball games. So, I go every night... which means I stay up late... so I haven't been working out much this week just from being so tired. I hope to kick it up on the weekend and get back on track though. I hope to make some progress with our challenge, but I'm hoping for another challenge next week and I'll be a lot more focused on meal prep and exercise. Gotta get this weight off again.

Misti: Welcome! Glad you're here!

Well, as I said, baseball is all encompassing right now. But the championship game is tomorrow night, so only a couple of more days. It also has been crazy busy at work. One of my coworkers has shingles and will be out for quite a while. I had shingles many years ago and I remember the pain, so I'm feeling for her. But that means that I'm taking on a bigger load at work. Makes it difficult to do anything else. But we'll make it through.

I need to really focus again. The last month has been a little crazy, but mindless eating does not cut it.

slash: 235.6, not much difference, but getting there. Tomorrow I do fasting bloodwork at 10am (you'd think I learn fasting until the 10am hour is a pain in the butt! especially when everyone else can be eating). So the weight off is a good thing. I hope your's is looking down, the weight that is. Have fun at the ball games! I know my family in the long past loved going to Rosenblatt in Omaha for the college world series, fun I am sure.

dina: hey shorthand is a plus, I am still learning emojis and of course sending the wrong ones!

keepn: welcome and good luck to you may these 20 lbs be a quick loss for you!

Hello all!

AM:
As said above fasting tonight into tomorrow, I know I am a poor blood sugar responder in the morning, doesn't matter if I have the healthy snack before bed - my number is always higher upon waking - not bad, just over where they'd like it. I found that out in pregnancy, which is the only time I had gestational diabetes. So that means for the rest of my life I get to be checked. I will pack my breakfast with me (hardboiled egg, string cheese and 1/2 a pepper) to eat when I am done. Oh sure, I'd love a meal out, but said meal will get stapled to my bum.

I got an hour in of weeding yesterday, I don't know how to count that, there isn't a "very slow" tab for that when marking yard work, so I did burn some calories. You should check, my app has one for housework as well - in case you are looking for ideas of movement, that one is a secret help!

A year in August when I started this all, I kept telling myself that I could be goal weight by May. Well, life got in the way and I am still struggling with being 100% focused on weight loss, but I try as best I can as I go along. The good news is I have stayed in the same decade for so long (since Feb) but have fluctuated with those 10 lbs so much I am ready to give the old heave ho!. So this morning was nice to see a bit smaller number, though I have been there lots before. I will try to stay the course and move ahead.

Happy weight loss to you all! May the pounds be going down for all of you. :broc:

Slashnl 06-03-2016 12:37 PM

Lemonthyme: Ugh. I'm not good at fasting at all. Hope you make it through!! Ha!

So, the way it worked out, we have tonight and tomorrow for games yet. I will need to get some stuff done this weekend, so I need to be disciplined during the day to get it all finished. Oh boy! I could skip the games, but I know I'll miss them when they're gone.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

lemonthyme 06-03-2016 06:15 PM

Slash: I loathe the fast that's when every crazy craving hits me! Have fun at the games are you cheering a local team? Your love of sport or your DH? Keep tabs on the snacks!

AM: just a fast for 8-12 hours so I'll stay up late and sleep in a bit hah w a LO the sleeping in wont happen. I'm loading up on veg and baked chicken tonight. I will be sure to have a bedtime snack to keep the sugars as level as I can. Drinking my water to begin plumping the veins because I won't be able to tomorrow.

I'm hopeful on the weight today. My mini goal is to be comfortably in the 220s by 4th July. Of course that'd be super great if I was further but since I plod along so nicely it'll be that small goal.

Horribly thick thunderstorms for us right now. It will be all evening. I love the smell of rain. Welcome to warm weather is oh so nice.

Hi all, hope everyone is healthy and doing well.

I took last week off as vacation and consequently spent 6 visits at the vet, including an emergency room visit on Sunday night. My cat couldn't pee, which is bad news as his bladder could have potentially exploded. So - 6 vet visits, a ridiculous amount of money, and a week later and he is finally at home recovering from surgery. He is on lots of medications, and is really groggy and grumpy. I can't say that I blame him. Yay, vacation... silver lining to me was that at least I was home all week and could do what was needed for the little guy.

I am truly surprised that I didn't stress eat this week. Could be that there was nothing in my house LOL. I swear it is because of the supplements I take. They have been life saving for me. I don't get cravings any more and my appetite stays in control.

I was super excited when I weighed in today. I am 1 pound from being 2/7ths of the way to my goal weight :) 39 lost and counting... 101 to go. I was 231 today. That was a really nice surprise. Wish it was moving faster - but it is still moving in the right direction so I am not going to say no to it.

I wish you all were near me - I would buy your veggies from your gardens! :)

Oh - and back on the Goodwill question - I look there, but there are never plus size clothes. So I go to Walmart and can get knit shorts for 5 bucks (the Just My Size label) and T shirts for 5 bucks. Unfortunately I lost the 135 pounds, but gained back so much so fast - I have clothes that will fit me from 210 to 140 pounds. When I got back to the 270, I bought only the very bare necessities. I have 2 pairs of dress pants for work, a bunch of tops that will be wearable for 60 pounds LOL and that's it. I hang out at home in 2 pairs of shorts and 3 tshirts. SO I only have about 20 pounds to go, and I have a brand new wardrobe waiting packed away in the spare room.
