Love2Garden: Yeah, you are definitely much more of a gardener than I am. That sounds wonderful!!

Ennay: Yeah, you also are way ahead of me on gardening. I used to do a lot more, but then I moved to a house that didn't really have a good place for a garden. Now, where I am, I could have a huge garden, but I'm not sure that I want to go with that. Maybe next year.

Lemonthyme: Well... where am I on weight.... that's a good question. I came back from my little trip and I got on the scale briefly. It was about 237. I honestly didn't stay on it long enough for it to settle in on a weight. :) I've steered clear since then. My plan is to get through the weekend with some discipline, and then get on the scale Tuesday morning. That weight will be official, and I'll go from there. But I'm going to force myself to be back on plan. So, maybe we can all try to work together on being more accountable.

I am not sure why it has been so hard to get back on track. I know that I've come a long way from my highest, but I need to remember that I'm not at goal. I need to get back to the thrill of seeing the numbers go down and having my clothes get looser again. It has almost been a rebellion of sorts that I don't even want to keep disciplined. I guess in my mind it gets so tiring sometimes that you just want the freedom to eat as you want. Honestly for me, the workouts and running have been great for the most part. At least that is on track. But without keeping to a good eating plan, it won't work.

So, that's my plan...

Slashni - every year I wonder why I put in the beds and maybe I should just make them all strawberry and just go to the farmer's market. Truth is I dont really like gardening that much, I just like the produce.

Morning more later today. I'm off to flea market. Weight is steady high at 238.8. I aim to be good today and do my best. I also hope to get to ride the cycle. I'll get to personals later today. Happy weekend to you all.

Introducing myself!

I've been at 239 for several days now, so I think it's safe to join this group. My name is Laura, and I've been working on my weight (this time) since February. I was active here several years ago, but backslid in a big way. The last time I was here, I started at about 271 and wandered away when I hit 239.8. This time, I started at 290 and now weight 239.0. I hope to encourage and get encouragement from all of you as we battle our way to Onderland!

Hi brand new day, if you dont mind me asking how did you do it? How did you lose the weight? It seems like I have been trying forever I have lost inches but not weight. Can you please give me some pointers thank you. Dina

I'm just counting calories. I eat anywhere from 1200 to 1400/day. I know I need to start exercising, but I tore the meniscus in my right knee, and I don't want to get too far from home and have it seize up and immobilize me (it happened to me at home a couple of months ago). The going is getting slower, but I haven't had much urge to cheat; I had a planned for pizza dinner a couple of months ago that made me quite ill (the fat? the cheese? the grease? I don't know). I also use My Fitness Pal as an online food log and am very honest about logging everything I eat. This helps keep me on the straight and narrow.

Brandnew: hello and welcome! We'll help cheer you on.

ennay: How's your planting? Are you all done and watching it grow? I went outside, 5 days ago I had put in some more swiss chard bright lights and I today have a plethora of little leaves sticking through the straw! Maybe that's my magic in my small bed the straw that is, so far things are flourishing. Hope the weight continues to go down for you.

slash: how'd you do with your meals this weekend? I didn't do great I know it. I am working hard today though to stay focused and eat what I am suppose to, not all those extras that got me messed up. How about you and I aim to take off 2 lbs this week? Do you think we can do it?

dina: calorie counting is a big helper, I know it has helped me when I do it, the problem for me is sticking with it, and I have learned if I don't my weight goes up or stays locked in at a nice high number for me.

Hello all!

AM:
Getting on track. I was happy we finally took the family bike ride last night, the only thing that was bad was my bike seat my DH thought it was a great bike because it "was designed for a woman" yeah - whatevs, the seat is like sitting on pinecone less the pokes. I think it was designed for a lady under 5' 5" and 120 lbs max. I always feel gargantuan on it but we rode and had fun and it was extra movement. I started today off fairly well with my breakfast, so I will keep it moving in that direction. I aim for my hitting my calories and not above.

I hope you all had a good weekend. Anyone do anything fun? We took our kids to a Memorial Day service so they begin to understand that it's a day to honor those lost and not just a weekend of BBQs, a day off etc. They did pretty well and were intrigued by it all, well my oldest, the youngest not so much until Taps and the gun salute.

So this week I aim to tackle these pounds. I CAN DO THIS. Now off to the doctor for the mammo and life can move forward.

lemonthyme I still need to go pick up my missing starts, replant my summer squash that did not germinate or got eaten by birds, and run my soaker hoses. Busy week at work though

Thank you brandnewday
That helps me know it can be done.
I'm sorry you are not feeling well.
Hang in there. You have done it in the past you can do it again😄

Dina123 05-31-2016 12:07 PM

Lemonthyme,
Thank you and good luck on your mamo.

CarrotsAreMyLife 05-31-2016 12:39 PM

I thought I'd be joining you all today but TOM decided to pay me a visit, grrr!! Next week I should be in the 230s and can't wait to start posting with you all! :carrot:

Slashnl 05-31-2016 01:52 PM

CarrotsAreMyLife: Just start posting here anyway! We're cool with that!

Ennay: That's me. I love the produce. Not impressed with the work involved in having a garden! Ha!

BrandNewDay: Welcome!!! I count calories and use myfitnesspal, too.

Dina: Congrats on losing the inches! That's important too, even though we all get fixated on the scale numbers!

Lemonthyme: I didn't weigh this morning, but I'll shoot for 2 pounds. I don't know if I can do it, but I'll have that as my goal, too.

I've been going to a baseball tournament all weekend long. It was a lot of fun, but not a lot of healthy choices for meals, that's for sure. The tournament is still going this week, so I'll be going at night.
