Denise_Taylor out of this cool thread, yet? :P

Yayyy!!:D:carrot: Congrats on the progress hun! And you are so right! Slow progress is better than none!

And I'm still hanging around in here hun! lol Hopefully by the end of this month or beginning of Oct. I will be out of here! ::fingerscrossed::

I'm going a little batty ladies. I've been stuck at 208-210 for 6 weeks, while staying under 1500 calories. I'm starting to feel I will be here forever. :(

shellofself 09-26-2019 09:24 AM

Smiling_Sara, have you tried doing intermittent fasting (IF) / one meal a day (OMAD)? OMAD is essentially fasting for 24-hours (with water consumption) before eating. So if I were doing OMAD today, and I last ate at 6pm last night, I couldn't eat again until after 6pm today, and that would be my one meal for today (with a minimum of 1200 healthy calories).

My daily calorie intake is 1200-1600 calories, depending on my activity that day. I usually do OMAD once a week. I've been doing OMAD mixed with 16:8 IF (fast 16 hours and eat within an 8-hour window; basically, skip breakfast and eat lunch and dinner) since May and I largely attribute that, coupled with a keto-lite diet, as the reason I've gone from 245 to 209 in under 5 months (roughly comes out to about 2 lbs a week, but I honestly just have great or awful weeks lol). Before IF and Keto, it had taken me 17 months to loose the almost the same amount of weight (285 to 245lbs).
________

209 flat today! Third day in a row I've been 209.X. Woohoo! This wasn't my best month, but looking to stay strong in October and be out by November!

shellofself 09-30-2019 09:10 AM

208.X - Third day in a row. Hoping for 207 by the end of the week :)

Denise_Taylor 10-01-2019 01:54 PM

207.6 this morning.. Hoping this month will lead me out of the 200's for good!! My weight has been going between 209 - 212 for the last 2 to 3 weeks.. I finally weighed in at 207.6 this morning. Hope to see the 190's by the end of this month!! Although, fingers crossed for the middle of the month! lol

Are you working out hun? I also agree that you should play around with Intermittent Fasting! It will help you break your plateau and reset your body!

I haven't tried OMAD. It kind of scares me. Like wouldn't I be starving when I couldn't eat? When I eat my one meal, wouldn't I get full so much quicker cause it's so much food at once? I know some have had lots of success with it, I just haven't tried it yet.

Yes, I do a pound class Monday, a Line dance class Wed, and a Zumba class Thurs. I'm just terribly stuck. Maybe I could try the fasting for a week to break through the plateau, but it's ahhhh, scary.

shellofself 10-02-2019 09:49 AM

Denise_Taylor Yess! You're so much more optimistic than me (but you're also probably working out more than me so it's justified!)!

Smiling_Sara I largely stick to the 16:8 schedule for similar reasons! I'm paranoid about building unhealthy, unsustainable eating habits (i.e., eating 1,200+ calories in one sitting :/) I also personally find it kind of painful and hard to do OMAD; not the fasting part, but actually eating all your (healthy) calories in one meal part. Like there's only so much grilled chicken, veggies, fruit, and dairy I can eat at once--so I end up struggling to meet my calorie count for the day (which, no bueno!).

Again, I personally wouldn't do OMAD long-term or daily, but I know others who have and have had amazing progress (including my husband ). Eh. I'll take my mostly consistent 2lbs loss a week and be happy :)
___

207.x - Second day in a row so I'm counting it. :D

Denise_Taylor 10-04-2019 04:13 PM

Smiling_Sara - I most definitely agree with trying, "IF" Intermittent Fasting. I do 16:8 and sometimes 18:6.. I do cheat a lot with it though lol! I do plan on being a lot more consistent with it once I get to my goal weight and go into maintenance.

shellofself
- I do workout a lot hun! But hey it's still possible for us to leave the 200's together if not you will be really really close behind! You are still doing great and making nice progress!

205.6 today!! Getting there!!

shellofself 10-07-2019 09:03 AM

Denise_Taylor It's crazy how something can feel so close and yet so far!

206.4 again this AM. I can already feel that breaking past 205 is going to be a struggle. Probably a good day for some OMAD. :)

shellofself 10-09-2019 11:14 AM

205.4!! Pushing hard for 204 at the end of the week. I'm drinking so much water at work; I'm pretty sure my co-workers think I struggle with incontinence. :/

___
10/11 Update: 204.6 at the doctor's yesterday! (Good to know my scale is accurate. I was 204.4 at home.) 204 flat today. Woohoo! ... This weekend will be the real test; I'm visiting my hometown, and I know my parents are going to try and force feed me junk food (they're big on sweets in the home).

Denise_Taylor 10-12-2019 02:12 PM

I'm at 203.0 ...Almost there!! Hopefully by next weekend I will be out the 200's!!! I'm about to buckle down and be consistent with Intermittent Fasting starting tomorrow! I do plan on making this apart of my permanent lifestyle change! I'll be doing anywhere from 16-18 hours with a 6 hour eating window!

Denise_Taylor 10-18-2019 09:03 PM

OMG!!! I did it!!! I'm finally out of the 200's!!! Just weighed in at 198.6. I'm still going to hang out in here for a few days just in case but I'm moving to the 190's thread finally! I'm officially 27 lbs down in 4 months!

How are you ladies doing?
